Minutes-'October 2, 1990 546 <br /> <br />15. <br /> <br />16. <br /> <br />17. <br /> <br />COMMITTEE REPORTS, Juvenile Justice Center liRhtin~, Red River Valley <br />~air/Bonanzaville agreements, Garrison Diversion, Harwood concerns on <br />Highway 22, meeting with legislative candidate~ <br />Mr. Sondrall had an estimate of $395 to install lights in an area <br />behind the large meeting room in the lower level of the Juvenile <br />Justice Center. <br /> <br />Mr. Wieland and Hr. Eckert met with members of the Historical Society <br />and the Red River Valley Fair Association to discuss agreements which <br />need to be updated. <br /> <br />Mr. Wieland said Garrison Diversion Conservancy District is meeting <br />October 4 and 5 at Carrington, and he is unable to attend. Mr. <br />Sondrall cannot attend either. Hr. Shannon asked if it would be <br />appropriate to notify the candidates who are on the general election <br />ballot for Garrison Diversion Conservancy Director. Mr. Wieland said <br />he will contact them to be sure they're aware of it. <br /> <br />Hr. Eckert said he attended a meeting last night with the City of <br />Harwood about their concerns on County Road 22, which goes through <br />Harwood. They re9uested input on any future projects. <br /> <br />Mr. Shannon asked about the county hosting an informal meeting with <br />legislative candidates as discussed previously by Hr. Wieland. Both <br />political parties were contacted by the Commission Office, and a <br />suggestion was made to meet on a Saturday or Sunday. Mr. Wieland <br />recommended Saturday morning, October 20th, but some details will <br />have to be worked out before it is finalized. <br /> <br />COMMISSIONERS CONVENTION, Auditor to send pre-registration fees <br /> MOTION, passed <br /> Hr. Wieland moved and Mr. Eckert seconded that the County <br /> Auditor to authorized to send a check for pre-registration <br /> fees for current Cass County Commissioners attending the <br /> annual convention November 13-15, 1990, at Dickinson. On <br /> roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />CORRESPONDENCE, Received and filed MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Eckert moved and Mr. Wieland seconded to receive and <br /> file correspondence outlined by the secretary as follows: <br /> Ron Sauvageau request not to hook up to rural south side <br /> sewer project and a memo from County Planner recommending <br /> that it be referred to States Attorney for procedure to <br /> follow; copy of letter to Mark and Cheryl Sorenson from <br /> Stanley Township Chairman regarding their letter dated <br /> August 14, 1990, which the County Commission also <br /> received; U.S. Senator Kent Conrad responding to <br /> Commission's resolution on proposals %o cap or eliminate <br /> deductibili%y of state and local income taxes; contract <br /> with Scott Ki]dab] for phase II model project (referred <br /> to States Attorney and Accountant); petition from some <br /> Cass County Social Services staff requesting preservation <br /> of psychological and psychiatric services for Children's <br /> Center, and letters from West Fargo Public School <br /> District special education director, Eastwood Elementary <br /> <br /> <br />
