Wieland moved and Mr. Sondr~ll seconded to grant
permission for out of state travel to Hike Steiner, Data
Processing Coordinator, to attend the 1990 AS/400 Technical
Conference October 8-12 in New Orleans, LA. On roll call
vote, motion carried unanimously.

LOST INSTRUMENT BONDS, puPlicate checks issued
NOTXON, passed
Hr. Wieland moved and Hr. Sondrall seconded to authorize
the County Auditor to issue duplicate payroll checks in the
amount of $776.49 and $883.45 to Noreen Hoots, Social
Services employee; and cancel warrants #13476 and #13477.
On roll call vote, motion carried unanimously.

INSURANCE, Liability policy renewal
Robert Dawson, Dawson Insurance Agency, submitted a quote of $143,479
for liability insurance for the period August 1, 1990 through July
31, 1991. He recommended changing the automobile physical damage
insurance for additional premium of $5,375. The advantage will be
collision insurance on high valued trucks and new Sheriff's vehicles.

Accountant Mike Montplaisir estimated the liability insurance premium
for Bonanzaville, U.S.A. at $2,000, and he recommended bi)ling them
for this amount. He said the Red River Valley Fair Association has
been carrying their own liability insurance for a number of years.

Hr. Wieland said the County doesn't manage the operations or
buildings at Bonanzavi'lle so the Historical Society should pay their
own insurance. Mr. Dawson said they cannot obtain insurance with the
North Dakota Insurance Reserve Fund unless it is with the County.
Mr. Wieland asked if there is any recommendation from NDIRF to reduce
potential exposure, and Mr. Dawson will recommend a survey of
insurance exposures and hazards at Bonanzaville. Mr. Wieland
requested the information in writing.

States Attorney Robert Hoy said both Bonanzaville and the Red River
Valley Fairgrounds are on property the County has legal interest in
to the extent that if someone would get hurt, the County may have
some relatively minimal exposure. He recommended that the County do
one of two things regarding both those pieces of property: 1) obtain
liability insurance through Dawson Insurance Agency for the County's
interest, however slight it may be, or 2) regarding the fairgrounds,
since they already have a policy, require alternatively that they
make Cass County a named insured under that policy which probably
would cost them nothing but would cover the County's interests as it
may appear to be.
MOTXON, passed
Hr. Eckert moved and Mrs. Toussaint seconded to proceed
with payment of insurance premiums for the next year with
the following changes: additional $5,375 for automobile
physical damage; and instruct Auditor's Office to bill
Bonanzaville $2,000 for liability insurance. On roll call
vote, motion carried unanimously. The Commission will
expect a communication from Mr. Dawson on the North Dakota
