Comm. Minutes--August 7, 1990 503 18. 19. 20. CORRESPONDENCE, Received and filed NOTION, passed Hr. Wieland moved and Mrs. Toussaint seconded to receive and file correspondence outlined by the secretary as follows: letter from Gethsemane Cathedral building committee asking the County to make an offer on their property east of the Courthouse in case they decide to relocate their cathedral; letter from Southeastern North Dakota Community Action Agency asking to continue the lease agreement for the building at 57-11th Avenue North for the Head Start program; letter from the Mayor of West Fargo requesting a meeting with Cass County to discuss financing on street construction pro3ects; letter from Mayor of Harwood asking questions about new bridge construction on County Road #22; letter from H.G. Poulson, President of Cass County Historical Society Board of Directors, requesting continuation of 1/4 mi]] levy; letter from George Pratt, Chairman of Bonanzavi]]e Blue Ribbon Panel, thanking Commissioners Toussaint and Shannon for talking with him and several panel members recently about the Historical Society; letter from North Dakota Department of Transportation about new signals at two railroad crossings and upgrading signals at three crossings in Cass County; letter from Division of Emergency Management regarding letters written to Don Richards, County Engineer, about 1989 flood damage reports and federal funding; letter from State Department of Human Services requesting input on planning the state's future human service needs; letter from North Dakota Housing Finance Agency concerning housing assistance funding; Office of Intergovernmental Assistance letter regarding Town & Country Roll-Off Service CDBG program; CDBG information letter concerning businesses proposing to retain 3obs being considered for CDBG funds; report from Committee for a Better Bonanzavi]]e; personnel activities/hires report and personnel action report for July, 1990; Red River Action Plan executive summary from the Metropolitan Council of Governments; computer listing from North Dakota Department of Transportation identifying bridges in Cass County needing repairs; letter from District Court commending maintenance personnel for doing a good 3ob painting court reporter offices; National Association of Counties letter regarding Federal budget deficit. Motion carried. Commissioners were reminded that correspondence can be reviewed in the secretary's office. Mr. Shannon said a lot of work is involved in processing Commission correspondence, and this should remind Commissioners of policy development work to be done next year. Regarding the letter from Gethsemane Cathedral building committee, Mr. Shannon proposed that they hire an appraiser to be agreed upon by the County and the County would pay one-half of the cost of the appraisal, but the appraisal would not obligate either party. PUBLIC COMMENT Arnie Pauls informed Commissioners that members of the Committee for a Better Bonanzaville met with the Historical Society's blue ribbon panel, and he thought the meeting was very amiable. Mr. Wieland said he is also scheduled to meet with them. ADJOURNMENT On motion by Mr. Wieland and seconded by Mrs. Toussaint, the Chairman declared the meeting adjourned.
