18. <br /> <br />19. <br /> <br />20. <br /> <br />Comm. Minutes--July 3, 1990 486 <br /> <br />CORRESPONDENCE <br />Hr. Sondrall reported on a letter he received from Riverdale <br />Centennial Committee requesting a rock from Cass County for a <br />monument being constructed in Riverdale, North Dakota. He spoke with <br />County Engineer Don Richards who will help in finding a rock. He <br />would like to take it to the unveiling ceremony in Riverdale <br />tomorrow, but needs to know the size of rock needed. The <br />Commissioners were in agreement that Mr. Sondrall carry out this <br />project after obtaining the necessary information. <br /> <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Wieland moved and Mrs. Toussaint seconded to receive <br />and file correspondence outlined by the secretary as <br />follows: letter from F-M Ambulance Service, Inc., <br />regarding emergency medical services; letter from the State <br />Health Department regarding permit for hazardous waste <br />storage submitted by Safety-Kleen Corporation, Fargo; <br />letter from Members for a Better Bonanzaville regarding <br />communications building; letter from Office of <br />Intergovernmental Assistance regarding Community <br />Development loan funds for F-M Door & Millwork; letter from <br />the West Fargo Chamber of Commerce introducing its new <br />president, Shirley Richter. Motion carried. <br /> <br />COMMITTEE REPORTS <br />Mr. Wieland reported on a call he received from Chip Larkin, <br />President of Solid Comfort Furniture. The conversation was regarding <br />a block grant that Cass County has with Solid Comfort. Hr. Larkin <br />asked for forgiveness of the loan portion of the block grant. Mr. <br />Wieland told Mr. Larkin that he will have to make a formal request <br />with documentation. <br /> <br />Ordelle Brua received a call from the Association of Counties in <br />Bismarck, North Dakota, questioning if any of the Commissioners will <br />be attending and NACO Convention in Miami, Florida, July 14-17, 1990. <br />None of the Commissioners will be attending, so a proxy will need to <br />be sent to Helen Schatz of Burleigh County, in Bismarck, who is going <br />to the convention. <br /> MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Wieland moved and Mrs. Toussaint seconded to send a <br />proxy for the NACO Convention to the National Association <br />of Counties. Motion carried. <br />There was a question regarding a $255 membership fee that needs to be <br />sent for registration for the proxy vote.
