Minutes--June 19, 1990 479 <br /> <br />21. <br /> <br />22. <br /> <br />23. <br /> <br />Mr. Shannon asked the Sheriff for a progress report the second <br />meeting in July, beginning with the fire inspection report. <br /> <br />Mr. Shannon offered to provide copies of the original mission <br />statement adopted for the Jail Advisory Committee and copies of the <br />full text of the States Attorney's opinion on the minimum requirements <br />of a jail for members of the press and other interested people. <br /> <br />COURTHOUSE, Energy audit report <br />Royce Yeater, Yeater Hennings Ruff Architects, Ltd., presented copies <br />of an energy study for the Cass County Courthouse dated June 19, <br />1990, which his firm prepared along with John Foss, Consulting <br />Mechanical Engineer, and SSR Engineers, Consulting Electrical <br />Engineers. <br /> MOTION, passed <br /> Mrs. Toussaint moved and Mr. Eckert seconded to receive and <br /> file the energy study presented by Royce Yeater and John <br /> Foss. On roll ca]] vote, motion carried with all members <br /> present voting "Aye" <br /> <br />COURTHOUSE, Entrance door remodelinR <br />Mike Montplaisir recommended that the Commission proceed with making <br />the west entrance doors handicapped accessible and remodeling the <br />east entrance. He also recommended looking at courthouse security. <br /> MOTION, passed <br /> Mrs. Toussaint moved and Mr. Eckert seconded to proceed <br /> with the west entrance door replacement and moving the wood <br /> doors to the east side of the main floor at an estimated <br /> cost of $10,800 plus architect fees. The County Accountant <br /> wi]] work with Clark Ho]man & Moorhead Ltd. in calling for <br /> bids on the project; and that the Sheriff's Department, <br /> County Accountant, Commissioners Eckert and Sondral] make <br /> a recommendation at the next meeting on possible security <br /> features for the west center entrance a6d projected costs. <br /> On roll call vote, motion carried with all members present <br /> voting "Aye". <br /> <br />SALARY PROPOSAL MOTION, passed <br /> Mrs. Toussaint moved and Mr. Eckert seconded to accept <br /> Mr. Riches salary proposal of May 25, 1990, with the <br /> exception of Community Survival Program, to be paid by <br /> separate check on July 31, 1990; and direct the Auditor's <br /> Office to make necessary salary budget adjustments to <br /> individual department heads from the amount budgeted for <br /> salary adjustments. On roll call vote, motion carried with <br /> all members present voting "Aye". <br /> MOTION, passed <br /> Mrs. loussaint moved and Mr. Eckert seconded to allow <br /> County Court Judges' sa]aries to remain as budgeted for <br /> 1990 and salary to be determined in future years by County <br /> Commission with aid of the Personnel Office. On roll call <br /> vote, motion carried with all members present voting "Aye" <br /> MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Eckert moved and Mr. Sondra]] seconded to accept the <br /> Personnel Director's recommendation to consolidate job <br /> titles, which essentially involves complete evaluation of <br /> <br /> <br />
