Minutes--April 3, 1990 451 <br /> <br />24. <br /> <br />25. <br /> <br />26. <br /> <br />27. <br /> <br />28. <br /> <br />29. <br /> <br />GI{ASSIIOPPER CONTROL, Plan.adopted <br />Rudy Radke, County Extension Agent, and Wayne Colberg, Weed Control <br />Ot'ficer, presented a 6raw--per Control Plan for Roads Right-of-Ways <br />alld a recommendation to hire Gene Johnson as a County coordinator. <br /> <br />ll~e States Attorney said the County needs to maintain accurate records <br />so there is documentation of information given to townships and when. <br /> <br />Hr. Sondrall said the chemicals should be properly destroyed when the <br />season ends. Mr. Radke said chemicals will be supplied by a licensed <br />applicator, and the County should not be involved in the disposal. <br /> <br />Mr. Eckert thought money for the chemicals should be paid from the <br />emergency fund but that a dollar limit should be set. Last year, the <br />County spent $24.00 per mile on County roads. This included spraying <br />on both sides of the road. <br /> <br />Mrs. Toussaint suggested that the rate of pay for the coordinator's <br />position be reviewed by the Personnel Director. MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Eckert mOved and Mr. Sondra]] seconded to adopt the <br /> GrasshoBper Control plans for Roads Right-of-Ways as <br /> outlined by the Extension Agent and Weed Control officer <br /> with these stipulations: that the money be charged against <br /> the Emergency Fund, which is allowable under the statutes; <br /> that the position of coordinator be reviewed by the <br /> Personnel Director, Seoff Riches, with a dollar limit of <br /> $3,000; that the dollar limit for chemicals be $24.00 per <br /> mile on County roads subject to this document, for a total <br /> cost of $12,600 including staff; and that a sign-off <br /> document be prepared by the States Attorney. On roll ca]] <br /> vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />NORTH DAKOTA ASSOCIATION OF COUNTIES, Future's committee <br />Hr. Shannon was invited by the North Dakota Association of Counties <br />to be part of a Future's Committee, which Commissioner Wie]and also <br />serves on. Hr. Wie]and said as long as this is County business, <br />Mr. Shannon does not need Commission approval to serve. <br /> <br />COURTHOUSE, Access to bqildin~ after office hours <br />Hr. Eckert said jailers do not have access to certain areas in the <br />Courthouse after business hours, and he thought they should have for <br />safety reasons, Hr. Shannon asked him to follow up on this. <br /> <br />COUNTY/CITY JOINT MEETING, A~enda items discussed <br />Everyone was in agreement that the Chairman should invite the Sheriff <br />to the Joint County/City Commission meeting to be held April 23rd, <br />and to invite any newly elected City Commissioners. <br /> <br />NORTH DAKOTA INSURANCE RESERVE FUND, Chairma~ to sign proxy <br />The Chairman wi]] sign the proxy vote for the North Dakota Insurance <br />Reserve Fund April 16th board meeting. <br /> <br />ADJOURN <br /> MOTION, passed <br /> On motion by Mr. Wie]and and seconded by Mrs. Toussaint, <br /> the Chairman declared the meeting adjourned. <br /> <br /> <br />
