Eckert requested time to discuss hiring seasonal employees for <br />the Weed Control Department. Wayne Colberg provided the Personnel <br />Department with job descriptions and a suggestion for increasing <br />salaries from $8.00 to $9.00 for supervisors and from $6.50 to $7.00 <br />for spray operators. MOTZON, passed <br /> Hr. Eckert moved and Hr. Wieland seconded that the County <br /> Weed Control Board be authorized to hire six to eight <br /> seasonal employees at the salaries outlined in the job <br /> descriptions. <br /> Discussion: Hr. Shannon said there is some redundancy here <br /> in that the approved budget includes part-time staff, When <br /> the next budget is prepared and reviewed, he suggested <br /> approving budget items with the idea that department heads <br /> can proceed without further approval, On roll call vote, <br /> the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />SOCIAL SERVICES BOARD, Specia].meetin~ requested for March 27 <br />Hr. Wieland requested a special meeting of the Cass County Social <br />Services Board at 8:00 a.m. on Hatch 27 in the Commission Room and <br />reduce the agenda to only one or two essential items; providing there <br />is a quorum. <br /> <br />Hr. Shannon asked what the essential items are, and Geoff Riches said <br />the Comprehensive Human Service Plan needs to be approved and <br />submitted to the State Human Services Department. He said it is <br />overdue. The States Attorney said there is no statutory date when it <br />has to be submitted to the State, Hr. Riches said he would also <br />like to give an update on the Position Information Questionnaires for <br />positions recently vacated by Tom Jensen and Paul Coughlin. <br /> <br />CORRESPONDENCE, Received and filed MOTZON, passed <br /> Hr. Wteland moved and Hr. Eckert seconded to receive and <br /> file the following correspondence: a letter from the State <br /> Historical Society requesting comments on how to spend <br /> Historic Preservation Grant funds; a letter from Glenn <br /> Ellingsberg regarding the 1990 spring flood outlook; a <br /> letter from the Department of the Air Force regarding <br /> regraveling roads in the Grand Forks AFB missile complex; <br /> a letter from the Department of Health and Human Services <br /> regarding the recent County audit; a letter from the F-M <br /> Peaceworkers regarding Earth Day, April 22nd; a letter from <br /> the Fargo Heritage Society requesting a donation from the <br /> County; a letter from the States Attorney saying the appeal <br /> <br /> <br />
