Minutes--JANUARY 16, 1990 413 works about 20 hours during January answering the telephone and correspondence, paying bills, program planning, and ordering chemicals for the next year, Under his previous contract with the Vector Control District Board, Mr. Young said he would have been paid in January. Mr. Shannon suggested scheduling a time when the two boards could meet, and Hr. Eckert thought he could get everyone together before the next Commission meeting. Mr. Sondrall said Mr. Eckert attended the last Vector Control District meeting in his absence. Mr. Shannon said Mr. Sondrall is a member of that board but since Mr. Eckert took an interest in this, he will continue working on it. Mr. Shannon reminded Hr. Eckert to keep the open meeting law in mind. 18. SOCIAL SERVICES, Out of state travel Mrs. Toussaint said it has been a policy of this board to approve out of state travel requests from the Social Services Board, but she asked that future requests be received before the travel takes place instead of after the fact. MOTION, passed Mrs. Toussaint moved and Mr. Wieland seconded to approve out of state travel for Dawn Krieger, Social Services employee, on the dates of December 13, 1989 and January 3, 1990, Motion carried, 19. BIDS, 1990 Election supplies MOTION, passed Mrs. Toussaint moved and Hr. Eckert seconded to receive the bid from Knight Printing Company for primary, general and special elections; and refer it to the Auditor for review and recommendation at the next meeting. Motion carried. 20. PLANNING COMMISSION, Heetin~ date discussed County Planner Earl Haugen wrote a letter asking the Commission if they were mandating a change in County Planning Commission meetings to the first Tuesday of each month. The minutes of the previous meeting were amended to show that it was of a voluntary nature. Mr. Wieland said changing the meeting date was discussed at the last Planning Commission meeting, but Thursday seems to be a good day for the members to attend. Mr. Shannon said the suggestion to change the meetings to Tuesday was to make it convenient for Commissioners to attend who are not on that board. He thought it would be beneficial to the Planner and the entire Planning Commission to have the full County Commission attend their meetings. Mr. Wieland will relay this information to the Planning Commission at their next meeting, and they can make a decision on that basis. 21. ROAD COMMITTEE, Meetin~ with Commissioners Mr. Eckert said the 10 mill levy road committee formulated their 1990 proposal for acceptance by the County Commission. Hr. Sondrall suggested that the Commissioners meet with the road committee at the Road Department office, and Mr. Shannon asked Hr. Eckert to inform the Commissioners of the date. He suggested that it be held on a Honday or Tuesday.
