Comm. Minutes--Oct. 17, 1989 369 <br /> <br />22. AGENDA ITEMS, Policy suqqested for emergency items <br />Nr. Wieland said the Commission does have a problem when items are <br />brought up which are not on the agenda at the time it is printed. He <br />suggested adopting a policy for emergency items and for items from <br />the public, and Nr. Shannon said he will work with Mr. Wieland on a <br />proposed policy. <br /> <br />23. OFFICER'S REPORTS, Received and filed MOTION, passed <br /> Hr. Wieland moved and Hr. Shannon seconded to receive and <br /> file the Officer's Reports for September. Motion carried. <br /> <br />24. ROAD COHPLAINT, Chairman to respoRd to letter MOTION, passed <br /> Hr. Wieland moved and Mrs. Toussaint seconded to receive <br /> and file a letter from Jim Nelson regarding county roads, <br /> and that the Chairman respond to Mr. Nelson. Notion <br /> carried. <br /> <br />25. PERSONNEL DEPARTMENT, Suggestion box item <br />A note in the suggestion box indicated the need for a way to leave <br />information outside the Personnel Assistant's door when she is not in <br />her office. Hr. Eckert will discuss this with Ns. Brumfield. <br /> <br />26. SOCIAL SERVICES, Out of sta'te tr~vel <br />A request was received for Tina Johnson, Social Services employee, to <br />attend a conference in Phoenix on November 2-5, 1989. The Commission <br />suggested addressing this at the same time as the Sheriff's request, <br />after hearing from the Personnel Assistant on how employees' time is <br />paid when traveling overnight. However, the Personnel Assistant was <br />in another meeting at this time. <br /> <br />27. SHERIFF DEPARTMENT AND SOCIAL SERVICES,, Out of state traYel <br />In the absence of the Personnel Assistant, Mr. Wieland suggested <br />approving the two requests received today for out of state travel, <br />and ask Ms. Brumfield to supply a written report for the next meeting <br />to deal with future requests. MOTION, withdrawn <br /> Mr. Wieland moved and Mrs, Toussaint seconded to approve <br /> the requests for out of state travel for one employee each <br /> in the Sheriff's Department and the Social Services <br /> Department; and to request a written report from Sandra <br /> Brumfield regarding exempt and non-exempt employees <br /> attending conferences both in the state and out of state, <br /> this information to be provided prior to the next meeting. <br /> Mr. Shannon said there is a motion on the table concerning <br /> travel for the Sheriff's Department. Mr. Wieland withdrew <br /> his motion and Mrs. Toussaint withdrew the second. <br /> MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Wieland moved and Mr. Shannon seconded to take from the <br /> table the motion previously made approving out of state <br /> travel for the Sheriff's Department. Motion carried. <br /> <br /> <br />
