Comm, Minutes--June 20, 1989 277 <br /> <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr, Wieland moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded to write a <br />letter to each of the four communities informing them that <br />a term has expired and no one has come forth to seek that <br />position and if they wish to have the County appoint <br />someone, as the law provides, they should submit a name to <br />the County for consideration, Mr, Shannon suggested <br />sending a copy of the letters to the County Planner with a <br />notation asking for his input, Motion carried, <br /> <br />17. APPOINTMENT, Housin~ Authority NOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Sondrall moved and Mr. Wieland seconded to reappoint <br /> Sanfred Ostlund for a five year term on the Housing <br /> Authority of Cass County. Motion carried. <br /> <br />18. APPOINTMENTS, Weed Control Board MOTION, passed <br /> Hr, Sondrall moved and Mrs, Toussaint seconded to reappoint <br /> Charles Anderson and Lawrence Barfuss to the County Weed <br /> Control Board for additional 4 year terms, If they no <br /> longer wish to serve on the Board, they should notify the <br /> County Commission, Motion carried, <br /> <br />19, APPOINTMENT, Social Service Board MOTION, passed <br /> Hr, Wieland moved and Hrs. Toussaint seconded to reappoint <br /> Oscar Sondrall to another three year term on the Social <br /> Service Board representing the Commission, Mr, Sondrall <br /> stated that he would resign from the Social Service Board <br /> if his Commission term ends prior to the expiration of his <br /> Social Service Board term, Motion carried, <br /> <br />20. APPOINTMENTS, Cemetery Authority <br />Three ter'ms on the Cemetery Authority Board e~pire in July. It was <br />noted that the terms were not staggered when the Cemetery Authority <br />was established, but the States Attorney felt the County Commission <br />could stagger the expiration of terms if they so desired. One <br />application was received from Harry Arneson, Jr. for consideration <br />to serve on the Cemetery Authority. Mr. Sondrall suggested that he <br />be a liaison member rather than a voting member so that Hr. Arneson <br />could serve. <br /> NOTION, withdrawn <br /> Mr. Wieland moved and Mrs. Toussaint seconded to reappoint <br /> Alton Johnson and Emerson Harris to the Cemetery Authority, <br /> and to appoint Harry Arneson, Jr. to replace Oscar Sondrall <br /> who will serve as a liaison between the Cemetery Authority <br /> and the County Commission. However, the County Auditor <br /> noted that one County Commissioner should serve as a <br /> Director. Mr. Wieland withdrew his motion and <br /> Mrs. Toussaint withdrew her second. <br /> MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Wieland moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded to appoint <br /> Oscar Sondrall as a Director on the Cemetery Authority to <br /> represent the Commission for a one year term, to reappoint <br /> Emerson Harris for a three year term, and to reappoint <br /> Alton Johnson for a one year term. Motion carried. <br /> <br /> <br />
