Comm, Minutes--June 20, 1989 277 MOTION, passed Mr, Wieland moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded to write a letter to each of the four communities informing them that a term has expired and no one has come forth to seek that position and if they wish to have the County appoint someone, as the law provides, they should submit a name to the County for consideration, Mr, Shannon suggested sending a copy of the letters to the County Planner with a notation asking for his input, Motion carried, 17. APPOINTMENT, Housin~ Authority NOTION, passed Mr. Sondrall moved and Mr. Wieland seconded to reappoint Sanfred Ostlund for a five year term on the Housing Authority of Cass County. Motion carried. 18. APPOINTMENTS, Weed Control Board MOTION, passed Hr, Sondrall moved and Mrs, Toussaint seconded to reappoint Charles Anderson and Lawrence Barfuss to the County Weed Control Board for additional 4 year terms, If they no longer wish to serve on the Board, they should notify the County Commission, Motion carried, 19, APPOINTMENT, Social Service Board MOTION, passed Hr, Wieland moved and Hrs. Toussaint seconded to reappoint Oscar Sondrall to another three year term on the Social Service Board representing the Commission, Mr, Sondrall stated that he would resign from the Social Service Board if his Commission term ends prior to the expiration of his Social Service Board term, Motion carried, 20. APPOINTMENTS, Cemetery Authority Three ter'ms on the Cemetery Authority Board e~pire in July. It was noted that the terms were not staggered when the Cemetery Authority was established, but the States Attorney felt the County Commission could stagger the expiration of terms if they so desired. One application was received from Harry Arneson, Jr. for consideration to serve on the Cemetery Authority. Mr. Sondrall suggested that he be a liaison member rather than a voting member so that Hr. Arneson could serve. NOTION, withdrawn Mr. Wieland moved and Mrs. Toussaint seconded to reappoint Alton Johnson and Emerson Harris to the Cemetery Authority, and to appoint Harry Arneson, Jr. to replace Oscar Sondrall who will serve as a liaison between the Cemetery Authority and the County Commission. However, the County Auditor noted that one County Commissioner should serve as a Director. Mr. Wieland withdrew his motion and Mrs. Toussaint withdrew her second. MOTION, passed Mr. Wieland moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded to appoint Oscar Sondrall as a Director on the Cemetery Authority to represent the Commission for a one year term, to reappoint Emerson Harris for a three year term, and to reappoint Alton Johnson for a one year term. Motion carried.
