SPECIAL ASSESSMENT DISTRICTS, Communication with townships
Mr. Warren Solberg, resident of Stanley Township, requested time to
speak about the problems townships have when special assessment
districts are created for street improvements. As former Chairman of
the Stanley Township Board of Supervisors, he stated that the
township receives requests when road repairs become necessary, and
they do not have the funds budgeted or the expertise for rebuilding
a road. He suggested an additional assessment for a year to be set
aside for future repairs of that road. He also suggested a County
policy whereby property owners in a special assessment district are
responsible for their own road repairs.
