Comm. Hinutes--Hay 2, 1989 249

35. Hr. Wieland reported that there will be no additional
cost for office systems for Social Services, but he understands no
move has been made to move people into the Social Services Board
Room. Mr. Eckert stated that he and Mrs. Toussaint met with one of
the owners of the property to the south of the Courthouse, and there
will be more space available on that property if the County wishes to
rent it. Hr. Wieland stated that it appears the Social Services
space problem is not as urgent as the Commission thought, and he
feels it is beneficial to allow the State Tax Department to rent
office space in the Courthouse. MOTION, passed
Mr. Wieland moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded to renew the
lease agreement with the State Tax Department for office
space in the Courthouse South Wing for another two year
period. Hr. Shannon asked about terms of the lease, and
Robert Hoy indicated that the present lease makes no
mention of cancellation by either side. Mr. Wieland moved
and Mr. Sondrall seconded to amend the motion to include a
90-day cancellation privilege by either party. Motion
carried on the amendment. At the call for the question,
the motion to renew the lease agreement carried
unanimously.

36. SALARY STUDY, Eide Helmeke billin~
Chairman Eckert stated that a bill was received from Eide Helmeke
Company in the amount of $2,254.00 as additional payment on the
salary study conducted by Mr. Bob Black. Mrs. Toussaint asked how
much money has been paid to Eide Helmeke to date, and Auditor Ordelle
Brua will investigate this and provide the information to the
Commission.

37. SHERIFF'S OFFICE, Out of state travel MOTION, passed
Mrs. Toussaint moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded to approve
out of state travel for two officers from the Sheriff's
Department to Mitchell, South Dakota, on Nay 9-11, 1989, to
attend the North Central Crime Conference. Mrs. Toussaint
asked if this is included in the Sheriff's Department
budget, and Mr. Eckert stated that he assumes it is.
Motion carried.

38.
