RESOLUTION #1989-7, Mosquito Awareness Week MOTION, passed <br /> Upon the request of the F-M Metropolitan Council of <br /> Governments, Mr. Wieland moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded to <br /> adopt Resolution #1989-7 proclaiming the week of April 24- <br /> 28 as Mosquito Awareness Week. Motion carried. <br /> <br />38. FARGO DOME AUTHORITY, Cass county nominees MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Wieland moved and Hrs. Toussaint seconded to submit the <br /> names of Jack Dalrymple of Casselton and Jerry Sheldon of <br /> rural Fargo to be considered for appointment to the Fargo <br /> Dome Authority as representatives of Cass County. Motion <br /> carried. <br /> <br />39. LEGISLATIVE ISSUES, Commission Support appreciated <br />Commissioner Wieland thanked other members of the Commission for <br />their assistance with telephone calls to Cass County legislators <br />during the 51st Legislative Assembly. <br /> <br />40. COMHITTEE REPORTS, Crime Stoppers, tree planting <br />Mr. Shannon reported on a meeting he attended last week on citizen <br />involvement to stop crimes. He hopes it will be included in the <br />County Sheriff's 1990 budget. Mr. Shannon also reported on <br />reforestation efforts along the Red River corridor, and he reported <br />that he has been working with the Fargo Forestry Department on <br />replanting of trees along city boulevards. <br /> <br />41. RED RIVER STEERING COMMITTEE, F. Selberg apptd, MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Shannon moved and Mrs. Toussaint seconded to appoint <br /> Fred Selberg to the Metropolitan Council of Governments <br /> Red River Steering Committee to replace Jeannette Stanton. <br /> Mr. Eckert asked if she has resigned, and Mrs. Toussaint <br /> stated that County Commission action on March 21, 1989, <br /> specified that terms on al.1 boards run concurrent with <br /> County Commission terms. Motion carried. <br /> <br />42. COUNTY REPRESENTATION ON BOARDS, Update <br />Mrs. Toussaint reported that nine responses have been received to <br />the Commission's request for an update from various boards and <br />committees on County representation. Mr. Eckert reported that Joe <br />Parmer from the Fargo Airport Authority responded by telephone and <br />stated that the County does not have representation on the Airport <br />Authority. <br /> <br />43. EXTENSION SERVICE, Natural Resources Program Assistant <br />Mr. Eckert reported that Earl Behrens, a Natural Resources Program <br />Assistant will be working with the Cass County Extension Service for <br />six months and the only cost to the County will be clerical and <br />telephone expense. <br /> <br />44.
