183 <br /> <br /> Mr. Shannon moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded that in reiterating <br />the July 23, 1985 minutes, future funds from the incentive program <br />through the Child Support Office first be deposited in the County <br />General Fund before being designated to any other department. Motion <br />carried. <br /> <br /> Mr. Shannon moved and Mrs. Toussaint seconded to receive the <br />check from the Attorney General's Office in the amount of $902.46 and <br />refer it to the Sheriff's Office to be used for enforcement of the <br />State gaming laws. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> Mr. Shannon moved and Mr. Wieland seconded to instruct the County <br />Auditor and County Accountant to contact other departments in the <br />County and make a recommendation at the February 21st meeting on <br />handling miscellaneous funds coming to the County. Motion carried. <br /> <br /> Correspondence was received from the Fargo Community Health <br />Center rgquesting a nomination for appointment to that board. <br />Jeannette Stanton served as a County representative during her term as <br />County Commissioner. Mr. Shannon suggested that the Chairman canvass <br />the Board members before the next meeting, and that each Commissioner <br />have at least two names to consider at the next meeting. <br /> <br /> Glenn Ellingsberg was present at this time to answer questions <br />regarding the Emergency 911 system. He referred to a letter he sent <br />to Commissioner Gene Shannon, with copies to each Commissioner, in <br />which he reviewed costs of the rural 911 system. He felt that by <br />January 1, 1990, there will be enough funds to pay for up-front costs. <br />Mr. Shannon asked about County staff time, and Mr. Ellingsberg stated <br />that response to Emergency 911 calls would be handled in the same <br />manner as at present in the majority of cases but the calls will be <br />coming in on separate lines. Asked about the rural addressing system, <br />Mr. Ellingsberg stated that this would have to be completed anyway, and <br />must be completed prior to beginning the Emergency 911 system. <br /> <br /> Mr. Wieland moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded that the Chairman be <br />authorized to sign the' contract with Northwestern Bell Telephone <br />Company, d/b/a/ U.S. West Communications for implementation of <br />the data base for Emergency 911 Service in Cass County. On roll call <br />vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> Mrs. Toussaint moved and Mr. Shannon seconded that Don Eckert <br />serve on a steering committee along with a representative of the County <br />Planning Office, the City of Fargo Planning Office, the City of West <br />Fargo Planning Office, and Glenn Ellingsberg to review and recommend a <br />rural addressing system. Motion carried. <br /> <br /> Mr. Wieland moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded to name Glenn <br />Ellingsberg to work with U.S. West Communications and other independent <br />telephone companies to ensure the accuracy of the Emergency 911 data <br />base. Motion carried. Mr. Shannon asked if U.S. West would extend <br />credit, and Mr. Ellingsberg felt that funding requests can be deferred <br />to January 1, 1990. <br /> <br /> <br />
