Mr. Sondrall moved and Mrs. Toussaint seconded that these <br />designated people serve as representatives on the County Personnel <br />Policy Review Committee. <br /> <br /> Mrs. Brua advised that the County had 24 tax-forfeited parcels <br />that the City of Fargo would purchase at $1.00 each. Mrs. Toussaint <br />moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded that the County cancel the General Tax <br />in the amount of $471.04 and that Auditor Ordelle Brua and Commissioner <br />Don Eckert be authorized to sign the deeds. Motion carried. <br /> <br /> Mrs. Toussaint moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded to sell the City of <br />Fargo 24 parcels for $1.00 each and that Chairman Eckert and Auditor <br />Brua sign the deeds. Motion carried. <br /> <br /> Mrs. Brua advised that the County had 3 tax-forfeited parcels in <br />the City of Buffalo, and the City of Buffalo would purchase 3 parcels <br />for $1.00 each. Mr. Sondrall moved and. Mrs. Toussaint seconded that <br />the County cancel General Tax in the amount of $1,258.73 and that <br />Auditor Ordelle Brua and Commissioner Don Eckert sign the deeds. <br />Motion carried. <br /> <br /> Mr. Sondrall moved and Mr. Shannon seconded to sell the City of <br />Buffalo 3 parcels at $1.00 each and that Chairman Eckert and Auditor <br />Brua sign the deeds. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Glenn Ellingsberg said there was no new information regarding the <br />911 service. U.S. West is eager for the contracts to be signed so they <br />may begin their data collection and input, however. Mr. Shannon <br />requested that discussion be postponed on this issue until the next <br />meeting due to the absence of Mr. Wieland. <br /> <br /> Mr. Sondrall <br />River Steering <br />committee. <br /> <br /> suggested that Mr. Shannon be appointed to the Red <br />Committee. Mr. Shannon agreed to serve on the <br /> <br /> County Engineer Don Richards reported on efforts to clear roadways <br />of the record snowfall. He advised that labor costs for snow removal <br />could exceed $§,200 in addition to fuel and equipment costs which are <br />also high. It probably would not be known until April exactly how much <br />snow removal will cost this year. He said he may need to hire <br />temporary help. Mr. Sondrall moved and Mrs. Toussaint seconded that <br />the Highway Department be authorized to hire up to nine (9) temporary <br />workers to carry into the summer season. Motion carried. <br /> <br /> County Engineer Richards reminded the Commission of the <br />Appreciation Dinner for Walt Hjelle that will be held the evening of <br />January 17. Mr. Sondrall and Mr. Wieland will be attending this event <br />along with Mr. Richards. <br /> <br /> Mr. Sondrall asked if the Highway Department is short of money, if <br />they could use funds from the Emergency Fund to pay for the temporary <br />help. Mr. Richards said that their budget does allocate money for <br />overtime normally used by workers in the summer but not for snow <br />removal.
