125 <br /> <br /> Concerning the position of Administrative Assistant to the <br />County Commission, Chairman Eckert stated that it has been suggested <br />to re-evaluate the position because of budget restraints and because <br />many of the duties formerly associated with the Administrative <br />Assistant's position have been absorbed by other Oounty personnel. <br />Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Wieland seconded that the position of <br />Administrative Assistant to the County Commission be eliminated as of <br />October 1, 1988, for the reasons stated by the Chairman, and that two <br />weeks severance pay be given to Diana Murack beginning October l, <br />1988. Commissioner Sondrall felt that Diana Murack should be paid to <br />the end of the year. At the call for the question and upon roll call <br />vote, the motion carried with four members voting "Aye" and <br />Mr. Sondrall opposing. <br /> <br /> Commissioner Larson wishes to discuss demolition <br />Sheriff's former residence adjacent to the County Jail, <br />matter will be placed on the agenda in thirty days. <br /> <br />of the <br />and the <br /> <br /> Oommissioner Larson stated that the County has been granted a <br />two-week extension on the option to buy the property south of the <br />Courthouse. The matter will be placed on the agenda in two weeks. <br /> <br /> Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded that Jim 8erglie be <br />authorized to fill a Social Worker II position for the Independent <br />Supportive Living Arrangement Program in pay grade 2~ at a salary of <br />about $18,000 per year. On roll call vote, the motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br /> Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Larson seconded to approve payment of <br />special assessments on County property in Casselton in the amount of <br />$~58.40. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> Mr. Larson moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded that County Auditor <br />Ordelle 8rua be authorized to divide the voting precincts of 8ames <br />Township and the City of Riverside for the November, 1988, General <br />Election because of the ballot question on the 911 emergency <br />telephone system. Motion carried. <br /> <br /> Correspondence was read. Chairman Eckert stated that complaints <br />have been received concerning County Road 17 at Horace. He stated <br />that the road, and others in the County, are in worse condition this <br />year because of the dry weather conditions. <br /> <br /> Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Larson seconded that Ohairman Don <br />Eokert represent the County Commission at the North Dakota State Fair <br />annual meeting in Bismarck on November 18, 1988. Motion carried. <br /> <br /> Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Larson seconded to notify the Lake <br />Agassiz Regional Council that Cass County is interested in <br />participating in the Community Development 8lock Grant public <br />facilities and housing program under the same conditions as in the <br />past concerning repayment of funds.
