121 <br /> <br /> Don Richards updated the Commission on road paving projects. <br />Commission members have received telephone calls on shoulder widths <br />not being paved, and Mrs. Stanton asked County Planner Earl. Haugen to <br />provide the County Engineer with a copy of 'the Metropolitan <br />Council of Governments' proposed bikeways. <br /> <br /> 'fhe Chairman stated that Administrative Assistant Diana Muraok <br />is absent today and planned to have knee surgery on this date. <br /> <br /> Bids were received from the following for County Road 51 paving <br />from Oounty Road 20 north two miles: <br /> <br />Border States Paving--S428,558.26 <br />Johnson Construction, <br />Northern Zmprovement Company--S451,457.25 <br />F-H Asphalt, <br /> <br /> Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Wieland seconded to r-eoeive the above <br />bids and refer them to the County Engineer for evaluation and <br />recommendation. Motion carried. <br /> <br /> Mr. Wieland moved and Mr. Larson seconded that Vouchers No. 2456 <br />through No. 5276 be approved and ordered paid. On roll call vote, <br />the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> A letter was received from the Chairman of the Nominating <br />Committee of the North Dakota County Commissioners Association <br />requesting names be submitted by September 25rd. <br /> <br /> Mr. Sondrall received notice that he was appointed as Chairman <br />of the Constitution and By-Laws Committee for the County <br />Commissioners Association, and he will De requesting placement of a <br />microphone in the aisle for those speaking at the convention. <br /> <br /> Upon the recommendation of County Engineer Don Richards, <br />Mr. Wieland moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded to award the low bid of <br />F-M Asphalt in the amount of $~'79,766.~0 for County Road 31 paving <br />and incidentals from County Road 20 north two miles. On roll call <br />vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> Mr. Sondrall moved and Mr. Larson seconded that the County <br />Engineer and Chairman Don Eckert attend the Regional County Road <br />Advisors Workshop on October 2'7 and 28, 1988, in Rapid City, SD. fhe <br />motion carried on roil call vote with four members voting "Aye" and <br />Mr. Eckert voting "Pass". <br /> <br /> 'f'he County Engineer stated that he will make every effort 'to <br />attend a public hearing at The Bowler in Fargo on September 14th <br />concerning State Highway Department and Federal Government pro3ects. <br /> <br /> l'he County Auditor received a letter from Gary Marshall, <br />President of PiG New Horizons, Inc. requesting permission to operate <br />their restaurant in Wild Rice on Sundays. Mrs. Stanton moved that a <br />request be sent to the State fax Department to verify receipts. <br />Mr. Wieland seconded the motion after adding that the States Attorney <br />and Sheriff be notified of the request.
