120 <br /> <br />REGULAR MEE'IiNG OF CASS COUNTY BOARD UF COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />SEP'IEMBER 6, 1V88 <br /> <br /> Chairman Don Eokert called the meetlng to order with all members <br />present as follows: Oscar Sondrail, Alon Wieland, Don Eokert, <br />Jeannette Stanton, and Ray Lanson. <br /> <br /> Mr. Lanson moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded that the minutes of <br />the previous meeting be approved as written. Motion carried. <br /> <br /> Sheriff Don Rudniok handed out copies of a Jail Staffing Report <br />prepared for his department. Chairman Eokert suggested reviewing it <br />and place on the agenda in two weeks. <br /> <br /> Glenn Ellingsberg, Disaster Emergency Services, presented a <br />resolution pr-epared with the assistance of the Cass County States <br />Attorney regarding a proposed 911 emergency telephone system. <br />Mr. Lanson moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded to adopt Resolution <br />~1988-17 adopting excise tax for emergency service communications <br />system to be placed on the ballot for the November election, said <br />resolution being on file in the office of the Cass County Auditor. <br />On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> Mr. Wieland moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded to receive and file <br />a letter of resignation from Mr. L.E. Bergen, and write a letter <br />thanking him for his years of service on the Cass County Plannlng <br />Commission. Motion carried. <br /> <br /> Concerning appointment to the Red River Action Plan Steering <br />Committee, Mrs. Stanton asked to delay this matter for two weeks. <br /> <br /> Carl Altenbernd from the Lake Agassiz Regional Council <br />introduced the owners of Pallet and Crate Supply Company of Fargo, <br />who wish to apply for Community Development Block loan funds to <br />expand 'their business to include a sawmill operation. Mr. Altenbernd <br />stated that this meeting has been advertised as a public hearing, and <br />Chairman Eokert asked for any comments from the audience. 'l'here were <br />none. Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr-. Lanson seconded that the Cass <br />County Commission authorize submittal ct an application for <br />Oommunity Development Block loan funds on behalf of Pallet & Crate <br />Supply Company. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br />Mr. Sondrall expressed concern about notification to any competitors, <br />and Mr. Altenbernd stated that this will be one of the requirements. <br /> <br /> Upon the recommendation of County Engineer Don Richards, <br />Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded to approve payment of <br />Road and Street Repair' Funds to the following: Grandin--$657.00, <br />Alice--S112.00, and Riverside--S5,594.00. On roll call vote, the <br />motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> Upon recommendation of the County Engineer, Mr. Sondrall moved <br />and Mr. Lanson seconded to grant a utility permit to Cass County <br />Electric to bury cable under County Road 28 south of the Red River <br />Valley Fairgrounds. Motion carried. <br /> <br /> <br />
