Motion carried. <br /> <br /> Mr. Gib Bromensohenkei was pr-esent by authority of the Fargo <br />City uommission, and also present were City Commissioner Mort <br />Mazaheri and Assistant City Engineer 8ob Welton to request Cass <br />County to pay for- one-half of the replacement cost of the <br />Broadway bridge wlth CLay County, Minnesota, to pay the other half· <br />f'he proposed bridge would meet minimum specifications of North Dakota <br />and Minnesota, and the total estimated cost of replacement is <br />$504,000.00. fhe City of Fargo would be paying about $llO,O00.OO for <br />road repair work, since the City of Fargo has annexed the land to the <br />riverbank. 'I'he Cass County Commission will consider the request at <br />budget time. <br /> <br /> Ac the suggestion of Glenn Ellingsberg from the 5heriff*s <br />Department, Mr. Lanson moved and Mrs. 5'tanton seconded to authorize <br />the County Auditor to place the question of establishing a <br />emergency telephone system on the November 8, 1988, General Election <br />ballot for those areas in Cass County not presently on the 911 <br />system. Mrs. Stanton asked how much time Mr. Elllngsberg is spending <br />on this issue, and he stated that it may become a burden by next year <br />if approved· On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> Glenn Ellingsberg stated that he will be attending the fall <br />seminar of the Disaster Emergency Services in Bismarck on September 7 <br />through 9, 1988. MFS. Sondrall seconded to grant a raffle <br />permit to the Nora Lutheran Church Women of Gardner on October 1, <br />1988. Motion carried. <br /> <br /> Fo continue the discussion on the proposed purchase of property <br />to the south of the Courthouse, Mr. Wieland reported that he was not <br />able to speak with the principal owner but will contact him about <br />12:00 Noon. Mr. Wieland moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded that <br />Commissioner Wieland attempt to obtain a 14-day option to purchase <br />property to the south of the Courthouse and to pay up to $500.00 for <br />said option. Brian Swanson, who was present, spoke at this time and <br />offered to sell property owned by him to the north of the Courthouse <br />for about $95,000.00. He stated that his property has been appraised <br />at $i09,000.00.
