105 REGULAR MEETING OF CASS COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS AUGUST 2, 1988 Chairman Don Eokert called the meeting to order with ail members present as follows: Oscar Sondrall, Alon Wieland, Don Eokert, Jeannette Stanton and Ray Larson. Mr. Larson moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded that the minutes of the previous meeting be approved as written. Motion carried. The matter of designating an administrative judge in County Court wiii be delayed for two weeks since Frank Racek took office just yesterday and since two Commissioners will be absent next week. Regarding termination of the Public Defender contract by William Kirschner, Mr. Wieland reported that the two r-emaining indigent defense attorneys and County Judge Georgia Dawson feel they can manage the case load until December 51, 1988, without appointing a replacement for Mr. Kirschner. A letter from States Attorney Robert Hoy indicated that this would be acceptable. Mr. Larson moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded to retain the two present public defenders, Steven Mottinger and Mark Beauchene, through December 51, 1988, and to divide the remaining funds from William Kirschner'$ contract between them. On roil call vote, the motion carried unanimously. Chairman Eokert stated Richard Hilborn, Clair Berg, Services Board are expiring. that the terms of George Griffeth, and Adeline Hartl on the County Social The following appointments were made: Mr. Sondrall moved and Mr. Larson seconded that George Griffeth of Casselton be reappointed to the Social Services 8card for a three year term to expire July 51, 1991. Motion carried. Mr. Larson moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded to appoint Patricia Corwin of Fargo to the County Social Services 8card for a three year term to expire July 51, 1991. Motion carried. Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Wieland seconded to appoint David Olig of Fargo to the County Social Services 8card for a three year term to expire July 51, 1991. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. Mr. Wieland moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded to appoint R.J. "Skip" Klinkhammer of Caeselton to the County Social Services 8card for a three year term to expire July 51, 1991. Mr. Sondrall moved to nominate Adeline Hartl for reappointment, but the Chairman stated that the first motion must be voted upon. The motion to appoint "Skip" Klinkhammer carried on roll call vote with three members voting "Aye"~ Mr. Larson and Mr. Sondrall opposing. Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Wieland seconded that the Chairman write a letter to Adeline Hartl, Richard Hilborn and Clair 8erg thanking them for their many years of service on the Cass County Social Services Board. Motion carried.
