90 <br /> <br />REGULAR MEETING OF CASS COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />JUNE 28, 1988 <br /> <br /> Chairman Don Eckert called the meeting to order with all members <br />present as follows: 'Ray Larson, Jeannette Stanton, Alon Wieland, <br />Oscar Sondrall, and Don Eckert. <br /> <br /> Mr. Larson moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded that the minutes of <br />the previous meeting be approved as written. Motion carried. <br /> <br />AL Johnson of Cass County Social Services appeared before the <br />Commission to request permission to fill a position for an <br />Eligibility Specialist. The Social Service Board had approved this <br />position in its meeting of June 27. The position is a Grade 27, with <br />a salary of $1,324 per month. Mr. Johnson anticipates starting an <br />individual at $1,281 per month. Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Sondrall <br />seconded to authorize Social Services to replace an Eligibility <br />Specialist at a salary of $1,281 per month. On roll call vote, the <br />motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> Rainer Lobitz of Cass County Social Services appeared to request <br />permission to replace a Social Worker III in Protective Services, <br />which had been approved by the Social Service Board on June 27th. <br />The present employee is leaving July 31. The position is Grade 25, <br />at a salary range of $1,707 to $2,600 per month. Mr. Sondrall moved <br />and Mrs. Stanton seconded that Social Services be authorized to hire <br />a social worker. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> Ed Biwer, from the Executive committee of Bonanzaville, detailed <br />a remodeling project at Bonanzaville. They have torn out the <br />Bonanzabelles kitchen in the church basement, which could no longer <br />be used due to new food handling regulations and neither was it <br />handicapped accessible. They hope to have the new restaurant open by <br />Pioneer Days. The project includes a sewer line going about 15 feet <br />into the fairgrounds. The cost of the entire project is <br />$60,000-$70,000. Bonanzaville has needed higher voltage and more <br />restrooms, which will be included in the remodeling. Mrs. Stanton <br />moved and Mr. Larson seconded that Bonanzaville be authorized to <br />proceed with remodeling to include a restaurant at a cost of <br />$60,000-$70,000. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> The Commission next considered appointments to various boards. <br />The Cass County Housing Authority had recommended to Mr. Wieland that <br />Richard Hilborn be reappointed. Mr. Wieland moved that Richard <br />Hilborn be reappointed to the Cass County Housing Authority for a <br />term of five years, Mr. Sondrall seconded. Motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br /> For City Planning & Zoning Commissions, three cities had <br />responded requesting reappointment of the present board member. <br />Mr. Wieland moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded to reappoint Glen Van Enk <br />for Briarwood, Clarence Samuel for Fargo, and Alice Benson for <br />Riverside to five year terms. The other five communities had not <br />responded to the letters sent to them asking for their <br />recommendations. However, in Gardner, the board member has moved <br />away and that position is vacant. Mr. Wieland volunteered to talk to <br /> <br /> <br />
