Mr. Larson moved and Mrs. Stanton <br />seconded that the Chairman be authorized to contact John Kautzman of <br />WiiIiston, ND to be the County accountant at a starting salary of <br />$27,000 per year, piu$ up to $1,500 for moving expenses. The motion <br />faiied on roli oaii vote with oniy Mr. Larson and Mr. Sondraii voting <br />"Aye"; Mrs. Stanton, Mr. Wieland and Mr. Eckert opposing. <br />Mr. Wieland stated that John Kautzman requested a salary increase of <br />$3,000 each six months until he reached an annual salary of <br /> <br /> Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Wieland seconded that Mike <br />Montplaisir of Fargo, ND be offered the position of County accountant <br />at a starting salary of $36,000 per year. The motion carried on roi1 <br />call vote with Mrs. Stanton, Mr. Wieland and Mr. Eokert voting "Aye"; <br />Mr. SondraII and Mr. Larson opposing. <br /> <br /> Upon the request of Sheriff Don Rudniok, Mr. Wieland moved and <br />Mrs. Stanton seconded to change the date of the public input meeting <br />on a proposed Law Enforcement Center and jail from July 19 to the <br />date of July 27, 1988, in conjunction with the guidelines of the <br />"Planning of New Institutions" publication of the U.S. Department of <br />Justice. Motion carried. Mr. Larson reported that there will be a <br />meeting with City of Fargo officials on June 28, 1988 at Fargo City <br />Hail concerning a combined Law Enforcement Center. <br /> <br /> Sheriff Don Rudnick reported on a meeting this morning with the <br />Jail physician regarding the detoxification area in the Jail. He is <br />concerned that it is a liability problem for the County, and it is a <br />law enforcement problem for the City of Fargo. <br /> <br />Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Larson seconded <br />state travel for Tina Johnson to Fergus Fails, MN, <br /> Motion carried. <br /> <br />to approve out of <br />on June 13, 1988. <br /> <br /> Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded to approve the <br />application for a raffle permit for the ND Jr. Polled Hereford <br />Association at the Red River Vaiiey Fairgrounds on the date of <br />July 28, 1988. Motion carried. <br /> <br /> Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Larson seconded that Commissioners <br />Wieland and Stanton receive reimbursement for their registration of <br />$195.00 to attend the National Association of Counties conference in <br />Anaheim, CA. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Wieland seconded that Commissioners <br />Wieland and Stanton be appointed as voting delegates to represent <br />Cass County at the NACo conference in Anaheim, CA. Motion carried. <br /> <br /> On motion by Mr. Larson and seconded by Mr. Wieland, the <br />Chairman declared the meeting recessed until June 16, 1988, at <br />9:00 AM. Motion carried. <br /> <br /> <br />
