61 Mr. Wieiand moved and Mr. Larson seconded to receive and file a ietter from District Court Judge Norman Backes expressing his opinion on the possibie appointment of a hail-time County Judge to repiace Donaid Cooke. Motion carried. Hr. Wieland moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded to receive and file a letter from County Social Services employees regarding the County's storm leave policy. Hotion carried. Correspondence was received from Warren L. Solberg, Chairman of the Stanley Township Board of Supervisors, concerning a public nuisance charge at a residence near St. Benedict in Stanley Township. Mr. Wieland stated that he has talked to the States Attorney's Office about this matter. Commissioners received copies of Engineers, Inc. regarding engineering districts. correspondence from Ulteig work for the water resource Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Larson seconded to approve payment to Automatic Lawn Sprinkler Company in the amount of $5,215.50 for the Courthouse lawn sprinkler system. An amount of 10~ is being retained for project completion. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Larson seconded to approve payment of a bill for signs in the Courthouse to Engraphix in the amount of $2,689.75, which represents 50~ of the project cost. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. Hrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Larson seconded that the Cass County Weed Control Board members be paid per diem at the rate of $45.00 per meeting effective immediately. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. Mr. Wieland moved and Mr. Larson seconded that Commissioners Stanton and Wieland be authorized to attend the National Association of Counties 5~rd annual conference in Anaheim, CA on August 6-9, 1988. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. On motion by Hr. Larson and seconded by Hr. Nieland, the meeting was adjourned.
