24 Upon the recommendation of Don Richards, Hr. Larson moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded to offer $4,650.00 to the widow of former County Surveyor Frank Richard, for the purchase of the piat book business incIuding survey records and fiiing cabinets~ subject to obtaining the copyright reiease through the States Attorney's Office. On roii oaii vote, the motion carried unanimously. Administrative Assistant Diana Murack received a letter from Mark Thelen, City of Fargo Director of Finance, requesting copies of documents relating to the tax increment error. She suggested forwarding the letter to the States Attorney and allow him to respond to it. Mn. Larson moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded that the letter from Mark Thelen be referred to the States Attorney requesting him to forward the information requested by Mr. Thelen. Motion carried. Mr. Larson moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded to receive and file the Officer's Reports for January, 1988. County Auditor Ordelle Brua provided copies of 1987 year-end balances for all funds. the County's Ordelle Brua requested permission for personnel changes in her department due to the resignation of Janice Becket, part-time employee, and due to the resignation of Blythe Parrott, full-time employee, effective February 29, 1988. Upon the recommendation of Mrs. 8rua, Mr. Nieland moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded that a temporary employee in the Auditor's Office, Jo Winefeldt, be hired to replace 81ythe Parrott in Pay Grade 5 at a salary of $1,025.00 per month, effective March 1, 1988~ and to advertise through North Dakota Job Services for a full-time 8ookkeeping Clerk in Pay Grade 5 at a salary of $900-$1,000 per month. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. Diana Muraok reminded the County Auditor that the County's Personnel Assistant should be consulted in placing the advertisememt. The Chairman received a copy of a letter from the Red River Valley Fair Association addressed to Ken MoIntyre, Secretary-lreasurer of the Cass County Historical Society, stating that the Fair Association is also of the opinion that the Historical Society should develop a Master Plan for the future of 8onanzaville Village before acquiring additional land at the fairgrounds. A letter was received from City of Fargo Judge Thomas A. Davies commending the Cass County Sheriff's Office, Civil Division, particularly Sgt. Michael P. Kelly, for the outstanding service in civil executions. Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Wieland seconded to receive and file the letter and submit a copy to Sheriff Rudnick to be included in Michael Kelly's personnel file. Motion carried. On meeting was adjourned.
