<br />Commission Minutes--September 2, 2003 2649 <br /> <br />Association of Counties would provide the county access to their technology team, <br />assistance with technology planning, technology camps every three months for staff, <br />centralized purchasing of software and hardware; and provide a senior level information <br />technology staff person. Mr. Schmaltz would be the senior staff person and is familiar with <br />Cass County because he has helped with technical issues the last few years. <br /> <br />Mr. Bennett asked what the cost would be to the county. Mr. Abel said a figure of $90,480 <br />per year has been discussed. Mr. Montplaisir said this is not all new funding as the county <br />has been paying the association for technical services. <br /> <br />Mr. Vanyo asked about staff size of the association's information technology department <br />and how many counties are receiving assistance. Mr. Abel said there is eleven staff, <br />including himself. North Dakota Association of Counties provides assistance to 37 counties <br />across the state. They would provide personal computer and service support to the county, <br />if a contract is approved. <br /> <br />Mr. Montplaisir said once the 2004 budget is approved, the contract will be submitted to the <br />Commission for their review. <br /> <br />10. VOUCHERS, Approved <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Bennett moved and Mrs. Sorum seconded to approve Voucher No. <br />179,978 through No. 180,376. On roll call vote, the motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />11. MEETING UPDATES; NDACo CONVENTION; COURTHOUSE FRONT PLAZA WORK; <br />BUILDINGS AND GROUNDS UPDATE; EMPLOYEE SEMINAR, Committee reports <br />Commissioners provided updates on meetings they have attended as well as upcoming <br />meetings. <br /> <br />Mr. Montplaisir said the NDACo convention will be held the first week of October and they <br />are in need of a door prize from Cass County. He asked commissioners for ideas. <br /> <br />Mrs. Johnson said work is in progress on the Courthouse front plaza and is expected to be <br />completed tomorrow. She said carpet installation will begin in the Sheriffs Department the <br />beginning of October. <br /> <br />Mrs. Johnson said a one-hour substance abuse seminar will be provided to all employees <br />the end of October. <br /> <br />12. CORRESPONDENCE, Received and filed <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mrs. Sorum moved and Mr. Vanyo seconded to receive and file <br />correspondence outlined by the secretary as follows: Motion carried. <br /> <br />North Dakota Department of Transportation information on bridge repairs, Director's <br />Task Force Transportation Enhancement Projects, and County Road Advisors' <br />Conference in Rapid City on October 22 and 23 at the Ramkota Inn; <br />
