EXHIBIT A-1 <br /> <br />3600 Jet Drive · PO Box 3134 · Rapid City, SD 57709-3134 <br />(605) 343-0280 · (605) 343-0305 (fax) · www.hodzonsinc.com <br /> <br />July 18, 2003 <br /> <br />Mr. Albert Liou <br />Pacific International Engineering <br />170 West Dayton, Suite 106A <br />Edmonds, WA 98020 <br /> <br />RE: Maple River FIS - Project #11868 - Phase I ACQUISITION <br /> <br />Dear Mr. Liou: <br /> <br />We are pleased to furnish our proposal for aerial photography, LIDAR and mapping services of Maple River. <br />Details of our proposal are described below: <br /> <br />- Project Description - <br /> <br />It is our understanding that this mapping will be used as a base map for flood plain delineation. <br /> <br />This proposal covers Phase I of operations to include all acquisition and the following mapping operations: <br />LiDAR Surfacing <br />Orthophotography <br /> <br />A separate proposal (dated 7/18/03) covers the operations of Phase II which include: <br />Contour Generation <br />Planimetric Mapping <br /> <br />The mapping boundary is diagrammed on the enclosed map. The area covered by this proposal is <br />approximately 91 square miles in size. Please review this map and verify that the correct mapping boundary <br />is depicted. This will be the boundary used for mapping operations unless a revised digital boundary <br />is provided before mapping commences. <br /> <br />- Aerial Photography - <br /> <br />We will obtain aerial photography after final contract approval and as soon as possible after targets are in <br />place (ground, leaf and weather conditions permitting). The photography will be obtained with a precision <br />mapping camera that has a current USGS Calibration Certificate. <br /> <br /> <br />
