~p America Vote Act <br /> <br /> cooperation with local <br /> election officials <br />Total Between <br /> $6,970,000 <br /> OR <br /> $7,970,000 <br /> <br />*Activity Funding Estimates are 'best estimates,' and are likely to increase and/or decrease in the <br />process of actual implementation. ,4Il funding estimates are based on the calculated amount of <br />federal election reform funding being allocated to North Dakota. <br /> <br />North Dakota will maintain expenditures of the state for activities funded by the <br />payment at a level equal to or greater than the level of such expenditures in state <br />FY2000, which was $35,841. This number is a reflection of state expenditures <br />only and does not reflect expenses incurred by counties. <br /> <br />The Secretary of State's office, with the cooperation of the county election officials and <br />the assistance of the North Dakota Association of Counties, is responsible for ensuring <br />success in meeting each performance goal. A comprehensive performance report will <br />be produced following the January 1,2006 complete compliance deadline. <br /> <br />Performance goals include: <br /> a. Elimination of punch card voting equipment. <br /> i. Timetable: June 1,2004 <br /> ii. Criteria: Replacement of punch card voting equipment and <br /> compliance with Title III HAVA requirements for Williams <br /> County, the only county to utilize punch card equipment in <br /> the 2000 General Election. <br /> iii. How Criteria is Judged: Success of meeting this <br /> performance goal is based on the implementation of a <br /> compliant voting system in Williams County by June 1, <br /> 2004. <br /> iv.
