INDIVIDUAL AND FAMILY ASSISTANCE <br /> <br />Functional Coordinator: Social Services Director <br /> <br />Purpose <br /> <br />To provide procedures for preparedness, response and recovery to meet the basic and special <br />human needs of individuals and families impacted by emergency or disaster situations, such as: <br /> <br />Health Related <br /> <br />Communicable <br />Disease <br />Bio-terrorism <br /> <br />Fire/Explosion Bomb Threat <br />Vehicle Accidents Terrorism <br />Aircraft Accidents Active Shooter <br />Hazardous Materials Civil Disorder <br />Structural Collapse <br /> <br />Flood <br />Heavy Rains <br />Blizzard <br />Tornado <br />High Winds <br /> (Straight-line) <br /> <br />The functional coordinator will use necessary means to coordinate the use of volunteer groups to <br />meet the tasks set forth in this function. Additionally, the coordinator will provide organizational <br />support for donations management and coordinate the use and registration of volunteers for <br />emergency operations. <br /> <br />Primary Function: Coordinate/Liaison with hospitals, Coordinate with Cass County Social <br />Services, Coordinate/Liaison with Volunteer Groups (Red Cross, Salvation Army, United Way, <br />EVAC, First Link), Organize Support for Donations Management <br /> <br />Secondary Function: Organize volunteers <br /> <br />This role will be filled by the Supervisor of Economic Assistance, in the event the Social Services <br />Director is unavailable. <br /> <br />Preparedness: <br /> <br />· Identify personnel to use for assistance <br />· Maintain relationships with support agencies (Red Cross, Salvation Army, United Way, <br /> EVAC, First Link) <br />· Recruit personnel for emergency management training offered by government, academic <br /> institutes, and private organizations <br />· Identify public facilities suitable for shelters, disaster assistance centers, pet care centers, <br /> aid stations, and temporary morgues <br />· Develop agreements with local businesses, service organizations and response agencies <br /> to supply goods and services during disasters <br /> <br />6/27/03 26 <br /> <br /> <br />
