Commission Minutes--June 2, 2003 2594 REGULAR MEETING OF CASS COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS JUNE 2, 2003 1. MEETING TO ORDER Chairman Scott Wagner called the meeting to order at 3:30 PM with all members present as follows: John Meyer, Robyn Sorum, Darrell Vanyo, Vern Bennett and Scott Wagner. 2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE The chairman asked Michael Montplaisir to lead the Pledge of Allegiance at this time. 3. MINUTES APPROVED MOTION, passed Mr. Meyer moved and Mrs. Sorum seconded that the minutes of the previous meeting of May 19, 2003 be approved as written. Motion carried. 4. AGENDA, Order approved MOTION, passed Mr. Meyer moved and Mr. Vanyo seconded to approve the order of the agenda with the following additions: 1) Highway Department purchase orders for Vector Control equipment, including a Phoenix 1800D sprayer and two Arctic Cat A TV's; 2) contract with North Dakota Department of Transportation for Sheriff's Department traffic safety grant; and 3) Sheriff's Department procedural matter added to the regular agenda. Motion carried. 5. CLERK OF COURT OFFICE, Retirement letter and plaaue to Toni Stremick MOTION, passed Mr. Bennett moved and Mr. Meyer seconded to authorize the chairman to sign a letter of commendation to Toni Stremick on her retirement after 22 years of service in the Clerk of District Court Office. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. Ms. Stremick was present, along with several co-workers, to receive the letter and a plaque in recognition of her years of service. 6. ROAD DEPARTMENT, Purchase orders for Vector Control vehicles MOTION, passed Mr. Bennett moved and Mr. Meyer seconded to authorize the chairman to sign purchase orders for one 2000 GMC Sonoma Pickup from Nereson's, Moorhead, MN for $9,500.00 and one 2000 GMC Sonoma Pickup from Corwin's, Fargo, ND for $9,350.00 for the Vector Control Department. Funds for these vehicles are included in the additional appropriations for Vector Control approved by the commission on May 19, 2003. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. MOTION, passed Mr. Bennett moved and Mr. Meyer seconded to authorize the chairman to sign a purchase order for a Phoenix 18000 sprayer in the amount of $6,900.00 from B & G Chemical for the Highway Department. This is a budgeted item for 2003 for Vector Control. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously.
