SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT, Budaet adiustment for leasina two vehicles <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Vanyo moved and Mr. Meyer seconded to authorize the budget <br />adjustment of $6,912.00 to revenue account 101-3501-421.55-05 and <br />$6,912.00 to expense account 101-3502-421.74-06 for the lease of two <br />vehicles for the Sheriff's Department drug task force. On roll call vote, <br />the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />9. <br /> <br />CONTRACT APPROVAL, Morris Sealcoat & Truckina. Inc.: Dunham Gravel. Inc. and <br />Valley Gravel. Inc.: bridae proiects at 12th and 40th Avenue South: North Dakota <br />Department of Transportation <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Vanyo moved and Mr. Meyer seconded to approve the following <br />contracts submitted by respective department head, subject to state's <br />attorney approval, and authorize the chairman to sign: On roll call vote, <br />the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />10. <br /> <br />Morris Seal coat & Trucking, Inc.--Project No. CH0304 seal coat various <br />locations in Cass County; <br />Dunham Gravel, Inc. and Valley Gravel, Inc.--2003 gravel deliveries for <br />Cass County; <br />Bridge projects at 12th Avenue and 40th Avenue South--resolutions <br />awarding low bids of Landwehr Construction, Inc. in the amount of <br />$656,291.98 for the 12th Avenue project and Landwehr Construction, <br />Inc. in the amount of $825,599.01 for the 40th Avenue project; <br />North Dakota Department of Transportation--upgrade railroad signals <br />on Cass County Highway 3, west edge of Ayr, at an estimated cost to <br />Cass County of $14,000. <br /> <br />COMMISSION POLICY MANUAL, Amend Section 4.00. Advisory Boards <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Vanyo moved and Mr. Meyer seconded to appoint Keith Berndt to fill a <br />vacancy on the Cass County Vector Control Board for a term to expire <br />December 31,2006. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />11. <br /> <br />DEVILS LAKE FLOODING, Letter of support on application for temporary discharQe <br />Joe Belford, Ramsey County Commissioner, presented an update on Devils Lake flooding. <br />He said it has been eight years since he started the process of trying to get water out of <br />Devils Lake. The lake has quadrupled in size since 1993, according to Mr. Belford. <br /> <br />A letter of support is being requested from the Cass County Commission for a temporary <br />discharge of surface water from the West Bay of Devils Lake to the Sheyenne River in an <br />effort to reduce additional flood damages. He said he appreciates Cass County's past <br />support on other resolutions. Trail! County and the cities of Grand Forks and Fargo have <br />agreed to send a letter of support on the controlled outlet, and he is also speaking to the <br />Clay County Commission and the cities of West Fargo and Moorhead this week. <br /> <br />Mr. Meyer said Mr. Belford will present the Devils Lake update at the East Central <br />Commissioners Association meeting in Hillsboro next month. <br />
