<br />Commission Minutes--ApriI7, 2003 2574 <br /> <br />REGULAR MEETING OF CASS COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />APRIL 7, 2003 <br /> <br />1. MEETING TO ORDER <br />Chairman Scott Wagner called the meeting to order at 3:30 PM with all members present as <br />follows: John Meyer, Robyn Sorum, Darrell Vanyo, Vern Bennett and Scott Wagner. <br /> <br />2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE <br />The chairman asked Mike Montplaisir to lead the Pledge of Allegiance at this time. <br /> <br />3. MINUTES APPROVED <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Vanyo moved and Mrs. Sorum seconded that the minutes of the <br />March 17, 2003 meeting be approved as written. Motion carried. <br /> <br />4. AGENDA, Order approved <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Meyer moved and Mrs. Sorum seconded to approve the order of the <br />agenda with the addition of three contracts under contract approval as <br />follows: Mark Beauchene for indigent defendants, Fargo Public Schools <br />joint powers election agreement, and All-Terrain Grounds Maintenance for <br />lawn care services at Springvale Cemetery; and moving an item on jail <br />temporary holding cells to the regular agenda. Motion carried. <br /> <br />5. RESOLUTION #2003-5, Support military actions of United States armed forces <br />Mr. Wagner read a resolution in support of military actions in Iraq. James Brent, Cass <br />County Veteran's Service Officer, was present along with members of various service <br />organizations in the county. <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mrs. Sorum moved and Mr. Bennett seconded to adopt the following <br />Resolution #2003-5 in support of military actions of the United States <br />armed forces: On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #2003-5 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, The President of the United States has activated and deployed numerous men <br />and women of the Armed Forces from Cass County, North Dakota, to assignments and <br />missions related to the ongoing global war on terror and the current crisis in Iraq; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, The citizens of Cass County, North Dakota, have achieved world wide renown <br />for their zeal and patriotism in answering their nation's call to duty whenever the cause of <br />Freedom and Justice is threatened by foreign tyrants and aggressors; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, The uniformed men and women of our community are once again called upon <br />to offer their utmost devotion in the defense of their country and to bring peace to a troubled <br />corner of the Earth; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Cass County Commissioners as <br />follows: <br />
