<br />Commission Minutes--August 1, 2005 2936 <br /> <br />15. YOUTH COMMISSION PICNIC/COURTHOUSE TOUR; BUDGET HEARINGS SET; <br />ORDINANCE REVIEW UPDATE, Committee reports <br />Mrs. Sorum reminded commissioners of the Cass County Youth Commission picnic and <br />courthouse tour on Wednesday, August 3rd, and asked commissioners to inform the <br />committee so they have an accurate count of how many people will attend. <br /> <br />Mr. Montplaisir said hearings on 2006 county budget requests are scheduled for the <br />mornings of August 11, 12, 18 and 19 in the county commission room. <br /> <br />Mr. Pawluk reported the subdivision ordinance review committee has been holding monthly <br />meetings, and there has been good dialogue from all of the parties involved. After the next <br />meeting, he said a draft plan will be forwarded to the county commission for review and <br />input, but not necessarily to approve it yet. The committee discussed sending the draft <br />document to Cass County's townships and cities for review and comment also. Mr. Vanyo <br />said he has been reading the minutes from the subcommittee meetings, and it appears they <br />are reaching consensus on numerous topics. <br /> <br />16. CORRESPONDENCE, Received and filed <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Wagner moved and Mrs. Sorum seconded to receive and file a <br />request from Dick Walstad, Chair of the Fargo-Moorhead Air National <br />Guard Support Group, for an additional $2,000 from Cass County to <br />continue the effort to prevent the North Dakota Air National Guard <br />"Happy Hooligans" from being on the closure list during the process of <br />nationwide review of military bases. Mr. Vanyo suggested placing the <br />request on the next agenda. He asked commissioners if they also <br />received a letter from the Metropolitan Council of Governments <br />regarding a workforce housing study to discuss issues of housing <br />affordability and diversity in the region. He said this could be a future <br />agenda item or it could be discussed at budget time. Motion carried. <br /> <br />17.
