<br />r- <br /> <br />"" <br /> <br />,- <br /> <br />Commission Minutes--February 18, 2003 2565 <br /> <br />meeting because he will be in Washington, D.C. as a board member of the North Dakota <br />Association of Counties. <br /> <br />Since it is cross-over week for bills in the State legislature, no meeting will be held this <br />Friday for commissioners and county department heads on legislative issues. The <br />commissioners were in agreement, however, that Mr. Montplaisir be authorized to send an <br />e-mail message to members of the House of Representatives by noon tomorrow to support <br />HB 1488 prohibiting state agencies from increasing county cost-sharing during a biennium. <br /> <br />17. <br /> <br />CORRESPONDENCE, Received and filed <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mrs. Sorum moved and Mr. Meyer seconded to receive and file <br />correspondence outlined by the secretary as follows: Motion carried. <br /> <br />East Central Commissioners Association meeting at the VFW Club in Valley City at 9:30 <br />AM on March 13, 2003, and invitation to Barnes County Commissioners Day at the North <br />Dakota Winter Show; <br />letter from Orville Iwen, Casselton, and response from Commission Chairman regarding <br />abatement of taxes; <br />copy of letter to Sheriff Don Rudnick from U.S. Attorney Drew Wrigley thanking Cass <br />County law enforcement for assisting in the recent investigation, arrest and prosecution of <br />a drug trafficking leader; <br />letter from North Dakota Department of Health, Environmental Health Section, on the <br />application of Minnkota Power Cooperative, Inc. for three air pollution control permits to <br />construct diesel-fired generator sets in Cass County. <br /> <br />18. <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT <br />MOTION, passed <br />On motion by Mr. Meyer, seconded by Mr. Vanyo and all in favor, the <br />meeting was adjourned at 4:40 PM. <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />APPROVED: <br /> <br /> <br />
