Information for Farmers and Ranchers in Crisis <br /> <br />There is a crisis need to help North Dakota farmers and ranchers develop management <br />skills and provide the information they need to make effective decisions for their <br />operation's economic success. Market To Market examines issues important to people in <br />agribusiness. It is the longest running series on public television. Not solely for the <br />agricultural audience, Market to Market speaks to issues that affect rural communities as <br />well as farmers and ranchers. This program extensively examines domestic issues as well <br />as extending its coverage to global markets. The program's diversity includes the <br />individual farm, regional concerns, and the urban impact of the farm economy. <br /> <br />Coordination with Existing Resources <br /> <br />*Building Our Future will be produced with assistance from North Dakota Economic <br />Development and Finance, the North Dakota Department of Agriculture, Greater North <br />Dakota Association and the North Dakota University System as well as the business <br /> <br />community. <br /> <br />*North to The Mandan Nation will be produced with assistance and advice from the <br />Tourism Division of North Dakota Department of Commerce, the Governor's Lewis and <br />Clark Advisory Committee, the Lewis and Clark Foundation, Three Affiliated Tribes, <br />and many private businesses. <br /> <br />*Market To Market will be produced by Iowa Public Television. <br /> <br />Related Support <br /> <br />Agencies, businesses and organizations involved in this project will provide substantial <br />financial support in the form of personnel resources, outreach activities, direct financial <br />support, and other forms of participation. While we can only estimate the level of <br />support at this time, past experience indicates that these relationships will generate more <br />than $100,000 in outside funding over the project period. <br /> <br />State Demographics <br /> <br />Current statistical data from the 2000 census on North Dakota indicates that per capita <br />income in the state is $17,769, median family income is $43,654, and the median <br />household income is $34,604.
