RECEIVED 'JUt 22 2005 CASS COUNTY COMMISSION MEMO TO: Cass County Commission FROM: Terry Schmaltz, IT Manager DATE: July 21, 2005 SUBJECT: Equipment Proposal Information Dear Commissioners, The City of Fargo recently negotiated the renewal of a franchise agreement with Cableone of Fargo. Board meeting at the City of Fargo have been available over a Cableone public access channel for some time and as part of those negations, Cableone will not continue to provide equipment and operators for the purpose of taping Commission meetings. Fargo has since installed equipment and contracted operators to tape meetings for the Fargo Commission. I have been requested by Mrs. Johnson to research the equipment required to provide a video feed to Cableone for a public access channel for the purposes of broadcasting Commission meetings and other public meetings open to the public. The video feed to Cableone will be transmitted over existing fiber optic cable to the City of Fargo where the interface to Cableone already exists. The system will include three color cameras mounted in the courtroom. One fixed camera with a wide angle overview of the commission bench and two pan/tilt/zoom cameras for close up shots of commission and speaker/audience. The system will also consist of an operator's station to control camera direction and monitor the video feed to Cableone.
