<br />Commission Minutes--November 4,2002 2531 <br /> <br />15. MEETING UPDATES; COMMISSION RETIREES; RED RIVER VALLEY FAIR <br />CAMPGROUND LOCATION; CEMETERY POLICY; ELECTION/ABSENTEE VOTING; <br />LEGISLATIVE LUNCHEON, Committee reports <br />Commissioners and staff reported on meetings they have attended in the past two weeks, <br />as well as upcoming meetings. <br /> <br />Mrs. Johnson said a celebration is being planned for November 14, 2002, from 3:00 to 5:00 <br />PM in the Commission Room, Cass County Courthouse, honoring the county service of <br />Commissioners Alon Wieland and Donna Schneider, who did not seek reelection this fall. <br /> <br />Mr. Montplaisir said the Red River VaUey Fair Association plans to spend about $100,000 to <br />improve drainage and parking at the Cass County Campsite located on the east edge of the <br />fairgrounds. They anticipate that increased usage of the campgrounds will pay for the <br />improvements. <br /> <br />Mr. Montplaisir and the cemetery sexton pian to prepare a policy to present to the board to <br />formalize procedures that are being followed at Springvale Cemetery. <br /> <br />According to the county auditor, over 5,000 absentee ballots will be opened on Election Day <br />by a nine-member board, who wiil prepare them for machine counting in the evening. <br /> <br />Commissioners tentatively set the date of November 25th at 11 :30 AM in the Commission <br />Room, Cass County Courthouse, for a iuncheon meeting with Cass County legisiative <br />representatives, commissioners and department heads. <br /> <br />16. CORRESPONDENCE, Received and tiled <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mrs. Sorum moved and Mr. Meyer seconded to receive and file <br />correspondence outlined by the secretary as follows; Motion carried. <br /> <br />notice of annuai fall meeting of the Cass County Township Officers' Association on <br />Tuesday, November 12, at 7:30 PM, Casselton City HaU Auditorium; <br />letter of thanks from Steve Stark, Executive Director of Bonanzaville for 2003 funding <br />from Cass County; <br />North Dakota Department of Transportation request for information on load limits on <br />county roads; <br />copy of Extension Service grant application to the Otto Bremer Foundation <br />Organizational Effectiveness Program. <br /> <br />17.
