Mr. Larson moved and Mrs Stanton seconded to authorize the County <br />Road Department to enter into a contract, to be signed by the Chairman <br />of the County Commission, with the Butler Machinery Company for rental <br />of up to four road graders under the terms and conditions set forth <br />by the County Engineer, subject to review and approval of States <br />Attorney Robert Hoy. Mr. Eckert stated that he would first like to <br />see some figures on the annual costs of the present maintainers. <br />The motion carried on roll call vote with four members voting "Aye", <br />Mr Eckert opposing. Mr. Wieland asked Don Richards to provide the <br />figures requested by Commissioner Eckert. <br />Mrs. Stanton stated that the Commission Minutes do not reflect <br />any action on 1988 salaries of elected officials. County Auditor <br />Ordelle Brua stated that figures were included in the 1988 Final <br />Budget, but Mr. Wieland suggested obtaining an outline of what the <br />1988 salaries should be and include it in the Commission Minutes. <br />The Board recessed for a meeting of the Cass County Building <br />Authority and upon reconvening, Mr. Larson moved and Mr. Eckert <br />seconded to approve action of the Building Authority for payment of <br />Disbursement Direction #29. On roll call vote, the motion carried <br />unanimously. <br />Mr. Larson moved and Mr. Eckert seconded to receive and file <br />the Indemnity Bond on Lost Instrument for the Grandin Rural Fire <br />District, and authorize the County Auditor to issue a duplicate check. <br />On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br />County Auditor Ordelle Brua informed the Commission that she <br />received a Quit Claim Deed from Attorney Jacque Stockman to Cass County <br />from Oscar and Adra Simonson for Lot 1 and Lot 17, South Haven <br />Subdivision, located in Stanley Township. It was noted that a drain <br />flows through both lots. Mr. Wieland suggested referring the matter <br />to the States Attorney before the County accepts it. <br />Mr. Eckert moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded to receive and file <br />a letter from Clinton Lowe regarding a road matter, and that the <br />Chairman respond by answering his questions. Motion carried. <br />Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Larson seconded to receive and file <br />the quarterly activity report of the U.S. Custom Service. Motion <br />carried. <br />On motion by Mr. Larson and seconded by Mr. Eckert, the meeting <br />was adjourned. <br />
