REGULAR MEETING OF CASS COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS AUGUST 4, 1987 Chairman Alon Wieland called the meeting to order with all members present as follows: Jeannette Stanton, Don Eckert, Oscar Sondrall, Ray Larson and Alon Wieland. Mr. Larson moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded that the minutes of the previous meeting be approved as written. Motion carried. Mr. Eckert moved and Mr. Larson seconded that Commissioner Alon Wieland represent the Cass County Commission on the local planning committee in connection with the federal Superfund Amendment and Reauthorization Act (SARA) Title III legislation. Motion carried. Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Larson seconded that the list of local planning committee members for the Superfund Amendment and Reauthorization Act (SARA) as presented by County Disaster Emergency Manager Glenn Ellingsberg, including a news media representative, be submitted to the State Disaster Emergency Services by Mr. Ellingsberg. Motion carried. Mr. Wieland will represent the Cass County Commission at the Disaster Emergency Managers workshop to be held in Bismarck on September 8 -10, 1987. Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Larson seconded to authorize Data Processing Manager Richard Offutt, Roxanne Friese and Cheryl McQuade out of state travel to St. Cloud, MN on August 12 -14, 1987 fora training session on the payroll package which the County recently purchased. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Larson seconded to authorize out of state travel for Richard Offutt to Atlanta, GA on September 14 -18, 1987 for training by I.B.M., at a cost of approximately $1,950.00. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded that Data Processing Manager Richard Offutt be authorized to proceed with the procurement of the law enforcement computer system as identified in his letter of July 30, 1987 at a net cost to the County of approximately $39,000.00. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. Mr. Sondrall moved and Mr. Larson seconded that the Chairman be authorized to sign the contract between Cass County and Business Records Corporation for the new payroll system. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. The Commission was informed that Cass County Social Services canceled the "Hot Line" contract through the Community Survival Program for the balance of 1987. Mr. Wieland felt that the Commission should honor the contract that was signed by Social Services until the matter can be reviewed. Mr. Eckert moved and Mr Sondrall seconded
