REGULAR MEETING OF CASS COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />JUNE 30, 1987 <br />Chairman Alon Wieland called the meeting to order with the <br />following members being present: Jeannette Stanton, Don Eckert, <br />Oscar Sondrall and Alon Wieland; with Ray Larson being absent. <br />Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Eckert seconded that the minutes of <br />the previous meeting be approved following a correction. Motion <br />carried. <br />Cass County Planner Gerald McCullough presented a RESOLUTION <br />to the Commission to ask the City of Fargo and to have Stanley Township <br />become involved in the extension of the Fargo sewer services to the <br />south of the city. He told the Commission that some grant funds may <br />be available through the federal Environmental Protection Agency for <br />the project. <br />Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded that the County <br />pass the RESOLUTION pertaining to the extension of the sewer services <br />to the south of Fargo. Motion carried. <br />Following a presentation of a RESOLUTION by Supervising <br />Sanitarian Goodwin Hoff for mosquito control in the County, Mrs. <br />Stanton moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded to pass the RESOLUTION; and <br />to authorize the Chairman to sign the petition and to designate to <br />the State Health Department that the County be a mosquito control <br />district. Motion carried. <br />Upon the request of Sheriff Donald Rudnick, Mrs. Stanton moved <br />and Mr. Eckert seconded to authorize the replacement in a secretarial <br />position with temporary help because of a leave of absence in Pay <br />Grade 5 in the amount of $6.50 per hour. On roll call vote, the motion <br />carried unanimously. <br />Sheriff Don Rudnick reported on some of the things that had been <br />done to make conditions more comfortable in the jail when temperatures <br />outdoors are very warm. Upon his request, Mr. Eckert moved and Mrs. <br />Stanton seconded that the Sheriff be authorized to obtain bids, <br />purchase and install an air conditioner in the attorney's room that <br />is used for counseling in the jail. On roll call vote, the motion <br />carried unanimously. <br />Mr. Eckert moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded to allow Arland <br />Rasmussen, Sheriff's Department, to travel to Missouri with no expense <br />to the County from July 15 to July 17, 1987. Motion carried. <br />Upon the request of Mr. James Berglie, Community Survival <br />Program, to replace Gail Nelson, Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Sondrall <br />seconded to authorize the replacement as a Social Worker 2 in Pay <br />Grade 23. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br />
