REGULAR MEETING OF CASS COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS JUNE 30, 1987 Chairman Alon Wieland called the meeting to order with the following members being present: Jeannette Stanton, Don Eckert, Oscar Sondrall and Alon Wieland; with Ray Larson being absent. Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Eckert seconded that the minutes of the previous meeting be approved following a correction. Motion carried. Cass County Planner Gerald McCullough presented a RESOLUTION to the Commission to ask the City of Fargo and to have Stanley Township become involved in the extension of the Fargo sewer services to the south of the city. He told the Commission that some grant funds may be available through the federal Environmental Protection Agency for the project. Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded that the County pass the RESOLUTION pertaining to the extension of the sewer services to the south of Fargo. Motion carried. Following a presentation of a RESOLUTION by Supervising Sanitarian Goodwin Hoff for mosquito control in the County, Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded to pass the RESOLUTION; and to authorize the Chairman to sign the petition and to designate to the State Health Department that the County be a mosquito control district. Motion carried. Upon the request of Sheriff Donald Rudnick, Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Eckert seconded to authorize the replacement in a secretarial position with temporary help because of a leave of absence in Pay Grade 5 in the amount of $6.50 per hour. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. Sheriff Don Rudnick reported on some of the things that had been done to make conditions more comfortable in the jail when temperatures outdoors are very warm. Upon his request, Mr. Eckert moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded that the Sheriff be authorized to obtain bids, purchase and install an air conditioner in the attorney's room that is used for counseling in the jail. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. Mr. Eckert moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded to allow Arland Rasmussen, Sheriff's Department, to travel to Missouri with no expense to the County from July 15 to July 17, 1987. Motion carried. Upon the request of Mr. James Berglie, Community Survival Program, to replace Gail Nelson, Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded to authorize the replacement as a Social Worker 2 in Pay Grade 23. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously.
