REGULAR MEETING OF CASS COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />JUNE 16, 1987 <br />Chairman Alon Wieland called the meeting to order with all members <br />present as follows: Jeannette Stanton, Don Eckert, Oscar Sondrall, <br />Ray Larson and Alon Wieland. <br />Mr. Larson moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded that the minutes of <br />the previous meeting be approved as written. Motion carried. <br />Upon the recommendation of Clarence Miller, County Director of <br />Tax Equalization, Mr. Larson moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded that <br />the valuation on Abatement #3847 submitted by Jerald Howard Strand <br />be reduced to $76,000 for the years 1985 and 1986. On roll call vote, <br />the motion carried unanimously. <br />Upon the recommendation of Clarence Miller, County Director of <br />Tax Equalization, Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded that <br />Abatement #3849 submitted by Garland Hagemeister be denied for the <br />reason that the valuation on the property is not excessive but is <br />fair and equitable compared to other residential property. On roll <br />call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br />Upon the recommendation of Clarence Miller, County Director of <br />Equalization, Mr. Sondrall moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded that <br />Abatement #3851 submitted by Glennie Good be denied for the reason <br />that the valuation is not excessive. On roll call vote, the motion <br />carried unanimously. <br />Upon the recommendation of the County Engineer Don Richards, <br />Mr. Eckert moved and Mr. Larson seconded that the Chairman be <br />authorized to sign the contract with Wanzek Construction Company for <br />bridge replacement in Raymond Township. On roll call vote, the motion <br />carried unanimously. <br />Mr. Larson moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded that County Engineer <br />Don Richards be authorized out of state travel to Minneapolis, <br />Minnesota, on the date of June 17, 1987. On roll call vote, the motion <br />carried unanimously. <br />Mr. Larson moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded to receive and file <br />the following Officer's Reports for May, 1987: Motion carried. <br />Clerk of Court 5,861.50 <br />County Court $27,659.20 <br />Register of Deeds $17,491.75 <br />Sheriff 9,355.55 <br />Veterans Service Office <br />County Auditor Ordelle Brua requested permission to hire an <br />additional employee, and she submitted a job description for the <br />position. She stated that previously there were two employees in <br />the Computer Room doing work which is now being done in her office. <br />
