Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded that Jerry Kern be reappointed to the Cass County
<br />Special Assessment Commission for a six -year term to expire in April, 1993. Motion carried.
<br />Upon the recommendation of the County's health insurance consultant, Mrs. Stanton moved and
<br />Mr. Eckert seconded to not include the routine mammographic screening benefit at this time, but that it
<br />be reviewed prior to the next contract renewal. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously.
<br />The Chairman presented correspondence from Dorothy Howard, Clerk of District Court, requesting
<br />permission to hire Faye Majerus in Pay Grade 4 at a salary of $900.00 per month commencing April 1, 1987,
<br />to replace an employee who was terminated. Mrs. Stanton requested that the Commission delay action on
<br />the request for one week.

<br />Mr. Eckert reported that Cass County owns 1.8 acres of land near Buffalo, North Dakota, and a party
<br />recently purchased the surrounding land from the State Highway Department for $450.00 per acre. The same
<br />party is interested in purchasing the land which Cass County owns, and the County may sell it to him
<br />without calling for bids if the Commission determines that the value is less than $1,000.00. The matter
<br />was referred to the States Attorney to prepare the necessary documents for the Board's review next week.
<br />Mr. Eckert reported that members of the County Park Board met yesterday with the Rush River Water
<br />Resource Board to discuss responsibilities at the Erie Dam and Recreation Complex.
<br />On motion by Mr. Larson and seconded by Mrs. Stanton, the meeting was adjourned.

<br />Chairman Alon Wieland called the meeting to order with all members present as follows: Jeannette
<br />Stanton, Don Eckert, Oscar Sondrall, Ray Larson and Alon Wieland.
<br />Mr. Larson moved and Mr. Eckert seconded that the minutes of the previous meeting be approved as
<br />written. Motion carried.
<br />Following the recommendation of Sheriff Don Rudnick regarding the proposed combined law enforcement
<br />center, Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Larson seconded that Mr. Steve Polson of Kansas City, Missouri, be
<br />retained for the study at a cost of $25,000- $30,000. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously.
<br />Mr. Larson moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded to authorize the Chairman to sign a Quit Claim Deed for
<br />the sale of abandoned right of way in Section 1, Tower Township, to Burnell 0. Beilke of Buffalo, North
<br />Dakota, in the amount of $810.00. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously.
<br />Following a presentation by County Judge Cynthia Rothe regarding the position of court reporter,
<br />Mr. Larson moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded to authorize County Court to hire a court reporter at an
<br />annual salary of $22,500.00, or $1,875.00 per month, in Pay Grade 10, effective April 6, 1987. On roll
<br />call vote, the motion carried unanimously.
<br />Mr. Steve Aakre, Attorney for Coordinated Living Services, along with Mr. Bruce Briggs, Mr. John
<br />Thompson and Mr. Carl Peterson, all Board Members of Coordinated Living Services, appeared for the public
<br />hearing on MIDA Bonds for the living center to be located in the Westgate Village Addition to the City of
<br />Fargo. Cost of the housing will be $700 $1,100 per month for the extended care of elderly people who are
<br />able to live independently, and there may be some medical services supplied by Bethany Homes and
<br />St. Luke's Hospital.
<br />Following the recommendations, Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Eckert seconded to authorize the Chairman
<br />to sign the RESOLUTION FOR BONDS FOR COORDINATED LIVING CENTER. Upon roll call vote, the motion carried
<br />with Mr. Wieland, Mr. Eckert and Mrs. Stanton voting "Aye Mr. Larson and Mr. Sondrall voting "No
