Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded that Jerry Kern
be reappointed to the Cass County Special Assessment Commission for
a six -year term to expire in April, 1993. Motion carried.
Upon the recommendation of the County's health insurance
consultant, Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Eckert seconded to not include
the routine mammographic screening benefit at this time, but that
it be reviewed prior to the next contract renewal. On roll call vote,
the motion carried unanimously.
The Chairman presented correspondence from Dorothy Howard, Clerk
of District Court, requesting permission to hire Faye Majerus in Pay
Grade 4 at a salary of $900.00 per month commencing April 1, 1987,
to replace an employee who was terminated. Mrs. Stanton requested
that the Commission delay action on the request for one week.
Mr. Eckert reported that Cass County owns 1.8 acres of land near
Buffalo, North Dakota, and a party recently purchased the surrounding
land from the State Highway Department for $450.00 per acre. The
same party is interested in purchasing the land which Cass County
owns, and the County may sell it to him without calling for bids if
the Commission determines that the value is less than $1,000.00.
The matter was referred to the States Attorney to prepare the necessary
documents for the Board's review next week.
Mr. Eckert reported that members of the County Park Board met
yesterday with the Rush River Water Resource Board to discuss
responsibilities at the Erie Dam and Recreation Complex.
On motion by Mr. Larson and seconded by Mrs. Stanton, the meeting
was adjourned
