Mr. Eckert moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded that the Chairman <br />be authorized to sign the Agreement for Construction and Maintenance <br />of Federal Aid Project for guard rail protection on County Road 20 <br />over the Red River. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br />Correspondence from the North Dakota Highway Department <br />regarding the Bridge replacement Program will be referred to County <br />Engineer Don Richards. <br />The Chairman was requested to obtain information on County Court <br />Judges absenteeism, and he complied some figures in this regard. <br />Mrs. Stanton stated that she feels this is a high rate of absenteeism, <br />and it is up to the County Commission to do something about it. Mrs. <br />Stanton moved and Mr. Larson seconded that the Chairman be authorized <br />to write a letter asking the County Court Judges for an explanation <br />of their absenteeism by either appearing in person next Tuesday or <br />answer by letter; and to also request a report on the condition of <br />the backlog of court cases and information on the necessity of hiring <br />a referee. Motion carried. <br />Mr. Larson moved and Mrs Stanton seconded that Mr Duane Boehning <br />be appointed to the Cass County Planning Commission from County <br />Commission District #3 to replace Victor Knudson of Kindred for a <br />term expiring January 1, 1990. Motion carried. <br />County Auditor Ordelle Brua presented a list of properties being <br />forfeited to Cass County for unpaid taxes. Mrs. Stanton moved and <br />Mr. Eckert seconded to appraise the property at the total amount of <br />5 -years delinquent taxes as shown on the 1986 Tax Sale List. On roll <br />call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br />Mr. Sondrall moved and Mr. Eckert seconded that Vouchers No. <br />67,679 through No. 68,581 be approved and ordered paid. On roll call <br />vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br />Upon the recommendation of Architect Perry Clark, Mrs. Stanton <br />moved and Mr. Larson seconded to approve Change Order No. 1 for the <br />Juvenile Justice Center re- roofing project to revise the insulation <br />at a cost of $2,600.00. On roll call vote, the motion carried <br />unanimously. <br />Mrs Stanton moved and Mr Eckert seconded that the County Auditor <br />be authorized to pay $3,875.00 to West Publishing Company for the <br />Westlaw Library System, and to accept a check from Robert D. Miller <br />in the amount of $887.50 to be deposited in State and Federal <br />Reimbursements. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br />Correspondence was received from the State Historical Society <br />regarding nominations to the State Historic Sites Registry. County <br />property formerly known as the "Pest House" located at 57 -11th Avenue <br />North, Fargo, is being considered. The property is being used by <br />the Community Action Agency's Head Start Program at the present time. <br />
