A public hearing was held at 10:30 A.M. on the 1987 preliminary <br />County budget. The Chairman asked if anyone wished to address any <br />items specifically. One comment was made pertaining to the line item <br />on dues to the National Association of Counties and to the North Dakota <br />Association of Counties. The Chairman declared the public hearing <br />closed. <br />Concerning bids received at 10:00 A.M. today for sale of the <br />Cass County Annex, Mr. Larson suggested awarded a final bid next <br />Tuesday. However, the remainder of the Commissioners could see not <br />point in delaying it This is the third time the Commission has called <br />for bids on the property, and Mr. Wieland stated that the sale would <br />place the property back on the tax rolls. <br />Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Eckert seconded that the Cass County <br />Commission accept the Bid /Purchase Agreement from Lightowler Johnson <br />Associates, Inc. and the Tower Corporation of Fargo for the purchase <br />of Lots 1 -6, Block 7, Original Townsite to the City of Fargo, commonly <br />known as the Cass County Annex, for a total bid of $232,500.00 under <br />the terms and conditions provided in the Bid /Purchase Agreement. <br />During further discussion, Mr. Wieland stated that the possession <br />date shall be March 1, 1987, but Cass County reserves the right to <br />rent such premises for up to one month thereafter at a monthly rental <br />of 1.25W of the purchase price. At the call for the question and <br />upon roll call vote, the motion carried with Mrs. Stanton, Mr. Wieland <br />and Mr. Eckert voting "Aye Mr. Larson opposing. <br />Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Eckert seconded that the Chairman <br />be authorized to sign the Bid /Purchase Agreement for the sale of the <br />Cass County Annex on behalf of Cass County, subject to approval of <br />the States Attorney. On roll call vote, the motion carried <br />unanimously. <br />Mr. Wieland stated that the money generated from the sale of <br />the Cass County Annex is not included in the budget for 1987. He <br />suggested that the Commissioners think of opportunities to improve <br />the parking lot. Mrs. Stanton suggested placing the money in a <br />building fund. <br />On motion by Mr. Larson and seconded by Mrs. Stanton, the meeting <br />was adjourned. <br />
