Support offices will be moving to the south wing about that time.
Mr. Eckert suggested an additional exit sign in the lunchroom area
in the basement of the north wing during construction.
Mrs. Stanton asked what the policy is on smoking in the Annex
because there was a fire in a waste basket in the basement restroom
last week. She also asked if there has been any policy on having
coffee pots in the County offices.
Mr. Larson moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded to grant the
Application for a Raffle Permit for the Nora Lutheran Church of rural
Gardner on the date of October 4, 1986. On roll call vote, the motion
carried unanimously.
Mr. Eckert moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded to grant the
Application for a Raffle Permit for the Wheatland Rod and Gun Club
on September 27, 1986. On roll call vote, the motion carried
unanimously.
Mr. Larson moved and Mr. Eckert seconded to grant the Application
for a Site Authorization Permit for the F -M Civic Opera to operate
games of chance at the Lower 48 in Wild Rice and at the Knickerbocker
Liquor Locker in Hickson beginning September 1, 1986 through June
30, 1987. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously.
A letter was received from Mr. Dayton Byram submitting his
resignation from the Cass County Planning Commission effective August
25, 1986. The resignation is the result of a letter the County
Commissioners received last week from the States Attorney citing the
need fora change in the membership to comply with State law. Chairman
Wieland suggested that the three Commissioners from the City of Fargo
find someone from their respective districts to replace the Planning
Commission members who are resigning.
Don Eckert reported that the County Planning Commission held
a special meeting on August 25th, and they recommended retaining member
Fred Selberg because he represents the County Planning Commission
on the F -M Metropolitan Council of Governments. Also at their special
meeting, the County Planning Commission suggested that the County
Commission consider appointing those persons resigning to an advisory
board and possibly paying their mileage to attend meetings. Mr.
Eckert stated that both Dayton Byram and Joseph Moore would be willing
to act as advisors. Mr. Moore had questioned the need to submit a
letter of resignation since he was not a legal member of the Planning
Commission, but Mr. Wieland felt we should have a written resignation.
Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Larson seconded to accept the
resignation of Cass County Planning Commissioner Dayton Byram with
regrets, effective August 25th. Motion carried.
Mr. Eckert moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded to appoint an advisory
board to the County Planning Commission consisting of no more than
three people, and that Dayton Byram be appointed to this committee.
On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously.
