<br />REGULAR MEETING OF CASS COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
<br />July 22, 1986
<br />Chairman Alon Wieland called the meeting to order and upon roll call, four members were present with
<br />Mr. Larson being absent.
<br />Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Eckert seconded to approve the minutes of the previous meeting as
<br />corrected. Motion carried.
<br />Commissioner Stanton reported on the seminar that was held in Devils Lake, North Dakota, on July 14,
<br />1986, regarding the liability insurance for recreational areas and parks. Since we have Brewer Lake and
<br />other parks in the County for public use, a meeting with the insurance agent would be beneficial to find
<br />the status for liability insurance.
<br />Upon the request of the States Attorney's Office, Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Eckert seconded to
<br />authorize the States Attorney and his assistants to travel out -of -state to Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, for
<br />a seminar to be held July 23, 24 and 25, 1986. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously.
<br />Mr. Eckert moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded to receive and file the letter from the National
<br />Association of Counties. Motion carried.
<br />Mr. Scott Krueger, Administrative Assistant, will send out a memo to department heads requesting a
<br />list of requirements that are federally funded and requires them to spend money.
<br />Upon the request of the Cass County Road Department, Mr. Eckert moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded to
<br />authorize the Chairman to sign a utility permit for an underground cable on County Road #26 to the county
<br />line by the Intercommunity Telephone Company from Nome, North Dakota. On roll call vote, the motion
<br />carried unanimously.
<br />The following bids were received for bridge work in Casselton Township from the County Road
<br />Department:

<br />Mr. Eckert moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded that the above bids be referred to the County Engineer
<br />for tabulation and recommendation. Motion carried.
<br />The Board recessed for the tabulation and the recommendation of the bids by the County Engineer.
<br />Upon reconvening, Mr. Eckert moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded to accept the offer for the sale of the
<br />County Shop at Chaffee, North Dakota, to Mr. C. James Jensen, Chaffee, North Dakota, in the amount of
<br />$1,500.00 to be deposited in the County General Fund. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously.
<br />Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Eckert seconded to award the road work contract to Jenson Brothers,
<br />Wheatland, North Dakota, in the amount of $204,716.39. On roll call vote, the motion carried
<br />unanimously.
<br />Mr. Eckert moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded to award the bridge contract to Wanzek Construction
<br />Company of Fargo in the amount of $127,440.70. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously.
<br />On motion by Mrs. Stanton and seconded by Mr. Eckert, the meeting was adjourned.
