REGULAR MEETING OF CASS COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />APRIL 29, 1986 <br />Chairman Alon Wieland called the meeting to order and upon roll <br />call, all members were present. <br />Mr. Larson moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded that the minutes of <br />the previous meeting be approved as written. Motion carried. <br />Mayor Kathy Maruska from the City of Alice appeared before the <br />Board to request storm related emergency assistance to clean up fallen <br />debris caused by the April 13th ad 14th storm. Estimated cost of <br />the clean up is $380.00. Mr. Eckert stated that he received a <br />telephone call from Carl Grindberg of Davenport representing an area <br />Lion's Club, who wishes to assist the City of Alice in their clean -up <br />efforts. Mr. Sondrall suggested that the County offer assistance <br />on a percentage basis, as was done for the City of Casselton last <br />week. Mr. Larson moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded to authorize an <br />expenditure up to $380.00 from the County Emergency Fund to assist <br />the City of Alice in the clean up of debris, with the assistance and <br />authorization of Commissioner Eckert. On roll call vote, the motion <br />carried unanimously. <br />Mr. Eckert moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded to receive and file <br />a letter from the Enderlin Area Rescue Squad thanking Cass County <br />for budget funds from the ambulance mill levy. Motion carried. <br />Discussion was held with County Engineer Don Richards on a <br />proposal for computer equipment for the County Road Department. Mr. <br />Wieland asked who would be operating the computer equipment, and Mr. <br />Richards stated that he is changing one position from part -time to <br />full -time and hiring an additional person in engineering. Mr. Wieland <br />reminded him of the County's policy whereby any change in personnel <br />must be approved by the County Commission and a salary recommendation <br />made by the County's Salary Review Committee. He instructed Mr. <br />Richards to prepare job descriptions and meet with the Salary Review <br />Committee. <br />Mr. Larson moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded that the Commission <br />authorize the purchase of computers and software for the Road <br />Department with a payment of $20,000.00, and that the method for paying <br />the balance of $28,000.00 be determined within a 7 -10 day period. <br />On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br />The Chairman declared a recess, and the meeting was reconvened <br />after a meeting of the Cass County Building Authority. <br />Mr. Larson moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded that the Commission <br />approve the Building Authority's action for payment of disbursement <br />request #8 for the Courthouse south wing construction, payment of <br />the trust fee to American National Bank in the amount of $2,775.00, <br />and change order E -2 in the amount of $1,000.00 for the Dakota Electric <br />Construction Company. On roll call vote, the motion carried <br />
