REGULAR MEETING OF CASS COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />MARCH 11, 1986 <br />The meeting was called to order by Vice Chairman Oscar Sondrall <br />with four members present, Chairman Alon Wieland being absent. <br />Mr. Larson moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded that the minutes of <br />the previous meeting be approved as written. Motion carried. <br />Becky Balk, Cass County Planner, appeared before the Board for <br />assistance in determining her employment status with the County. <br />She stated that she was considered a private consultant, and the <br />Metropolitan Council of Governments provided $3,000.00 for her <br />expenses in 1985 but are not providing the money this year. In the <br />1986 budget year, she is being paid by the County Auditor's Office. <br />Mr. Eckert moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded that Becky Balk be <br />classified as a part -time County employee. On roll call vote, the <br />motion carried unanimously. <br />Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Eckert seconded that any township <br />wishing to contract for the Cass County Planner's services will be <br />charged $10.00 per hour with payment directly to the County, and that <br />the County Planner in turn be paid an hourly rate of $7.25. On roll <br />call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br />Mr. Eckert moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded to amend the raffle <br />permit for the North Dakota Jr. Polled Hereford Association to be <br />held at the Olson Hereford Ranch at Argusville instead of in Tulsa, <br />Oklahoma, on July 24, 1986. On roll call vote, the motion carried <br />unanimously. <br />Mr Larson moved and Mrs Stanton seconded that the Vice Chairman <br />be authorized to sign a letter to the State Highway Department District <br />Office requesting assistance to enforce County road restrictions. <br />Motion carried. <br />Mr. Sondrall reported on correspondence from the North Dakota <br />Centennial Commission, and it was suggested that a committee be <br />appointed from Cass County. If any citizens are interested in serving <br />on such a committee, they should contact the County Commission. <br />Mr. Jeff Frankhauser, Fargo City Commissioner, appeared before <br />the Board to request the County to appoint a committee to meet with <br />representatives of the City of Fargo to discuss the feasibility of <br />a combined City- County law enforcement center. It was suggested that <br />the City Attorney and County States Attorney study the legalities. <br />The County intends to make appointments next week when the Chairman <br />is present. <br />Bids were received at 10:00 A.M. for annual Road Department <br />supplies. One bid was received for structural steel from the Fargo <br />Tank Company. <br />
