The following bids were received for Environmental Systems and <br />Fire Safety Equipment Maintenance at the Cass County Courthouse, Jail, <br />Detention Center and Annex for one year: <br />Base Bid <br />Honeywell $23,976.00 <br />Peterson Mechanical, Inc. $23,470.00 <br />Johnson Controls, Inc. $23,506.00 <br />Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Eckert seconded that the above bids <br />be referred to Commissioners Larson and Wieland and to the <br />Administrative Assistant for evaluation and recommendation next <br />Tuesday. Motion carried unanimously. <br />Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Eckert seconded that Vouchers <br />No. 59,789 through No. 60,635 be approved and ordered paid. On roll <br />call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br />The Chairman called for discussion on having the Administrative <br />Assistant and the newly hired Data Processing Manager report directly <br />to the Commission so there will not be any misunderstandings. Mr. <br />Wieland stated that the Administrative Assistant operates under the <br />Auditor's Office even though he reports directly to the Commission, <br />but Mr. Wieland feels it should be an independent situation. The <br />County Auditor stated that Scott Krueger is a Deputy under her <br />department. Discussion will continue next Tuesday. <br />In response to a memo sent by the Administrative Assistant on <br />income received by department heads other than their annual salary, <br />three letters were received. The County Sheriff reported that his <br />wife will clear $15,000-$18,000 for food service service in the County <br />Jail, and he valued the housing furnished to him at $6,000 per year. <br />County Court Judges Donald J. Cooke and Cynthia A. Rothe stated that <br />as of January 1, 1986, marriages performed by them will not occur <br />during regular working hours. The County Auditor reported extra <br />compensation from the 1985 game and fish license fees at $4,864.95, <br />per Section 20.1 -03 -17 of the North Dakota Century Code. Mr. Eckert <br />moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded to receive and file the three letters <br />from the department heads. Motion carried. Commissioners Larson <br />and Eckert will study the matter further and report back in about <br />3 weeks. <br />On motion by Mr. Eckert and seconded by Mrs. Stanton, the meeting <br />was adjourned. <br />
