REGULAR MEETING OF CASS COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />DECEMBER 17, 1985 <br />Chairman Ray Larson called the meeting to order and upon roll <br />call, all members were present. <br />Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Eckert seconded that the minutes of <br />the previous meeting be approved as written. Motion carried. <br />Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded to grant approval <br />of the following County Beer and Liquor License renewals for 1986, <br />subject to the Warren Tavern paying the balance of their 1984 real <br />estate taxes. Bastien Wild Rice (The Lower 48) <br />(Beer Only) <br />Mr. Eckert moved and Mr. Wieland seconded to pass a resolution <br />of appreciation to Gordon Sletmoe for his 33 1/2 years of service <br />to Cass County upon his retirement as Cass County Disaster Emergency <br />Services Director. Motion carried. <br />Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded that County offices <br />be closed at 12 :00 noon on December 24th and at 3:00 P.M. on December <br />31st for the Christmas and New Year holidays. On roll call vote, <br />the motion carried unanimously. <br />The Board discussed payment of County bills for the end of the <br />year, and they decided not to meet on Tuesday, December 31st but they <br />will meet on January 2, 1986, to pay the bills. <br />Correspondence was received from Earl Pomeroy, Commissioner of <br />Insurance, stating that premiums to political subdivisions will need <br />to be increased substantially if the next legislative session spends <br />more of the reserves of the State Fire and Tornado Fund. Mr. Wieland <br />moved and Mr. Eckert seconded that Scott Krueger, Administrative <br />Assistant, draft a letter along the guidelines as presented by the <br />State Insurance Commissioner to be sent to all State Legislators. <br />Upon discussion, Mrs. Stanton suggested to include asking for <br />limitations on liability and the Board was in agreement. On roll <br />call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br />
